Canadian-born Pamela Anderson, the ultimate California girl, is now a U.S. Citizen.

The retired actress and soon-to-be reality TV star confirmed the news on her blog.

“Being a citizen excites me not just because I can vote, but because I can crack the whip on Capitol Hill to defend animals,” she says.

God bless America.

Perez, you are WAY behind in the news. Pamela's been a U.S. citizen since May 12, 2004. FOUR YEARS! HELLO??!! Her blog says that she's undertaking her first political activity in the U.S. "as a U.S. citizen" NOT that she was naturalised recently or that she just passed the test! Jesus Christ, get with the times, Hilton.

And to Marco Pervo: She can't vote in Canada. Doesn't mean you have dual U.S. and Canadian citizenship (as she does) that you can vote in both countries. Canadians lose the right to vote after 5 years of residence in a foreign country (although they do keep Canadian citizenship forever). Get your facts straight.

I know my comment is going to inflame some folks, but I have to say it.

We have Thousands of HUMAN BEINGS on the street who need help, and I feel their interests, i.e. food, shelter, medical care comes before animals.

Yes, animals are sweet and cuddly, but they are not human beings, and, my opinon only, I feel we need to take care of the people first.

So maybe Ms. Anderson would like to get involved helping the other humans less fortunate. Lots of normal families have been devastated by the rising cost of health care, and they need assistance.

You do not have to pick and choose your morals thankfully, you can care about both animals and humans. I'm not going to lecture you, you are of the majority that simply does not understand what is involved in bringing the animal to your dinner plates.

And if not for animal cruelty, think of the environment. Slaughter houses contribute to one of the leading causes of pollution in the world and depletion of natural resources. That not only has to do with animals, but the well being of humans, and our planet. If you were to really care about humans, you would want them to know the dangers of a diet consisting highly of meat, and the dangers of our planet.
