The retired actress and soon-to-be reality TV star confirmed the news on her blog.

“Being a citizen excites me not just because I can vote, but because I can crack the whip on Capitol Hill to defend animals,” she says.

God bless America.

Her blog says that she's undertaking her first political activity in the U.S. "as a U.S. citizen" NOT that she was naturalised recently or that she just passed the test! Jesus Christ, get with the times, Hilton.

And to Marco Pervo: She can't vote in Canada. Doesn't mean you have dual U.S. and Canadian citizenship (as she does) that you can vote in both countries. Canadians lose the right to vote after 5 years of residence in a foreign country (although they do keep Canadian citizenship forever). Get your facts straight.

We have Thousands of HUMAN BEINGS on the street who need help, and I feel their interests, i.e. food, shelter, medical care comes before animals.

Yes, animals are sweet and cuddly, but they are not human beings, and, my opinon only, I feel we need to take care of the people first.
