They build or remodel homes that are adapted for the most seriously injured vets coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan. The death toll is relatively low compared to past wars because more troops are surviving their injuries but are coming home severely disabled.
Please help support our troops, even the wounded ones. They fought for our freedom. Now give something back to them.

Talk to a soldier and ask them if they really want to be there…and the answer wont be what you think….

SADLY, SO MANY DOUCHEBAGS WHO POST THEIR IGNORANCE ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD WILL NEVER HAVE ANYONE RESPECT OR ADMIRE THEM IN THEIR LIFE IN THE WAY THAT A U.S. SOLDIER IS HONORED.
This is an amazing organization! In addition to their planned events, each month, veterans gather together at the Pentagon to welcome home these amazing men and women in a makeshift parade. The soldiers are overcome with so much determination that many of them vacate their wheelchairs and let go of their escorts to walk on their own down a 150 yd. corridor, taking in the passionate cheers of people who are truly in awe of seeing these heroes in person.
I have been blessed to take part in this parade and there truly is nothing like the feeling of thanking, in person, these men and women who love their country so much that they are willing to risk everything for it.
Perez, I don't know what your affiliation is with this organization, but it means a lot that you would devote space on your site to it. Thank you.

This charity is 100% REAL AND LEGIT. I personally met the founders and have heard firsthand their strong belief in helping wounded soldiers. As for Perez getting paid to promote the charity - I really hope that is not the case because if it is that is SAD.

Hey fuck face, I am a United States Marine, I have friends who I consider my brothers and sisters fighting over there right now, and ask any of them if they are proud of what they're doing, and they will tell you yes. They ARE fighting for our freedom just as our troops did generations before ours. I'll pray for you and that you one day will appreciate all that our soldiers/sailors/airmen/marines do for us. It's very sad that you don't see how much we've sacrificed for YOU.
As and FYI, this is not a phoney. I personnally know the founders of this non-profit. This is a charity that provides wounded soldiers with their basic necessities such as underwear, toothpaste, t-shirts, etc. All these items are placed in a backpack and hand delivered to the soldiers while at the hospital.
Helping a wounded soldier is not a matter of being against or in favor of the war. Its a matter of helping a human that got hurt while doing its job, and doesn't have the means to cover its basic needs.

As much as I adore your site, I'm glad that you created this post. This past weekend a close friend was tragically killed in Iraq, as a Marine at just 19 years old. I support this foundation, and I'm going to be working with them in conjunction with a benefit for our hero, Lnc. Crpl. Jordan Haerter. This weekend, this war became a reality for my little town in the Hamptons, NY. May he rest in peace.
I don't get it……Republicans LOVE to go on about how they support the troops……..yet Vets don't get any support after they are hurt or come home. ie health care……….so many of them are homeless on the street.
Seems like the whole 'support the troops' bit is just a phony political slogan.

Perez thanks for posting a link to such a worthy cause. My brother recently lost both of his legs over there, just doing his job like any other American. He just happened to be a soldier. Those of you who have all this negativity, just take it somewhere else. Many troops do not want to be where they are, but people need jobs, health insurance, college scholarships. They sign up and make the ultimate sacrafice. You ignorant haters should attack the people in charge, not those who were just trying to make a better life for themselves at any cost.
Props to Perez for putting this up. Nothing is too good for our troops. If everybody just sent $10, with the number of people who post and lurk here, the donation would be huge! Let's do it!

"Army of One" was changed in 2006 to "Army Strong", they still use the "Army of One" slogan for advertising purposes. Fallujah was were every one in three, if not more houses were destroyed before 2005. Hundred of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians were killed. That is not right. Do you see a campaign for them? No.
Quite frankly I know alot more than what you give me credit for, and have a friend that was blinded from going to war in Iraq. He has just managed to run the London Marathon despite the fact he can barely walk.

Perez! Thanks for giving this organization some face time on your site. This organization has helped my husband and many of his injured friends. We donate to them every chance we get. They have done amazing things for the wounded coming back from overseas. They have also been advocates for getting the right treatment for wounded service men and women. Thanks Perez!

Wounded Warriors Project IS a real charity..and I'm glad Perez has the Pretty Pink Balls enough to post it on here when its not PC to support our soldiers. They are doing their JOB..and its not to kill anyone as their first and foremost duty…Congress voted to go to war..and Congress hasn't pulled any troops out as this "newly" voted in congress promised….so I suggest you take a good look at those whom you voted in..and exactly how much they have changed since they have been in office

My husband is a US marine and now works for the wounded warrior battalion. My hubby of almost a decade came home after his 5th deployment blind, partially paralyzed and unable to walk. With a LOT of surgery and physically therapy, he can walk again. He is still fully blind, but instead of kicking him out of the marine corps they found him a job he could do at the Wounded Warrior battalion on Camp Pendleton. This is an amazing organization. Anything that lets our guys come back to the job they love and feel useful is amazing. So be kind people. Our guys arent there fighting for oil. They are there because they are ordered to do so. My husband joined to defend the country. If we have a commander that clearly doesnt know what that entails, its not the fault of these men. Its the fault of the guys at the top. These guys are out there fighting for all of your rights to post and say whatever you want on here.

I was still organizing his affairs when I received the call about my husband. My husband also lost his best friend in the IED. Thanks for your support! Stay safe! and way to go MCAS! (2 of my 3 older brothers are pilots)

Re: Samantha – I lost a very very dear friend of mine July 6th 2007. Army Cpl Kory D. Wiens and his Military Working Dog, Sgt Cooper were the first dog handler team killed together since Vietnam. Very sad. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. It helps me sleep better knowing that he is still watching over my brothers and sisters who are still there fighting the good fight. WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT is about people, not politics. They focus their attention and funds toward men and women severely wounded while serving their country.
My husband is an officer in the Marine Corps serving in Iraq right now. Reading these posts that show such disrespect for our military makes me feel really sad about the way this country has gone. What happened to the days when our troops were welcomed home with ticker tape parades in Times Square? Now who gets parades? Pro-football teams…
People in the military don't join because they can't get any other jobs. They join because they care about our country and want to serve to protect it. My husband is serving right now with men who are CEOs, engineers, and Neurologists. They all put their careers on hold for a year to serve their country.
And about the troops killing innocent Iraqis..they only kill when threatened (sure there have been some scumbags in the military who break this rule). And as far as I can tell, most of the innocent Iraqis are being killed by the insurgents and their bombs they set off in public places.
As for the Iraqis not wanting us there, my husband has become friends with many of the people in his Area of Operations, and they are all very thankful for us being there and helping them fight the insurgents.
Going into this war was a mistake, but we can't just leave now. And we can't disrespect the men and women who care enough to help the Iraqi people rebuild and protect their country.
