The UK media is reporting that Pete Doperty is gonna go free on Tuesday.
Upon his release, he'll have served just 29 days of the 98 sentenced.
Even more disturbing, Dopehead was supposedly shooting up behind bars!!!!!!!
What kind of message is the British justice system sending?!
A 'friend' of Doperty's reveals, “He’s planning to go straight to play a gig — and then get smashed. He wants no business appointments for three days — so he can really go for it.”
Disturbing.
If what the 'friend' says is true, Dopey learned nothing in lock up.
The taxpayer money that was used on Dopehead's brief stay was a waste!

jail is no longer used to rehabilitate criminals. it is used to keep them locked up against the public. it is sad when our ssytem has failed us and criminals learn nothing from their actions, but it our own mistake for having such a system.

What the big waste of money is that our governments go locking up drug addicts. BIG WASTE OF MONEY. Lock them up if they hurt someone or steal something, but stop locking up drug addicts. People have shooting up drugs in US prisons for decades — do you really not know this?! Are you that naive or are you just ignorant about the prison system in the US? Most people have no idea what goes on in jails and prisons in this country. It's beyond cruel and unusual punishment but since you cannot vote if you've been convicted of a felony, none of the so-called 'rehabilitated' wannabe citizens can get political representation in the US. Ok… I normally really like you Perez but you've got alot of things wrong here…. 1. There is NO WAY in hell they would release him if he was doing drugs (same goes if they had sent him to an open prison), i mean look at Blake filder-civil or however you spell his name. prison sentences in the UK are nothing in comparison to the US, its unusual to actually go to jail for drugs. Prisons are overcrowded as it is, cant fill them up with petty crime!

unfortunately, a major problem with the prisons in the UK is the accesibility of drugs to inmates. it's not unusual for people to come out of the prison system completely hooked on the scag. it's not just this idiot, it's the plight of a LOT of people.

there's a prison crisis in th UK with a limited amount of places. Pete is unlikely to physically harm anyone else so i suppose it makes sense that he should go free at this point.
