New Nine Inch Nails for Free!

In a surprise move, Trent Reznor has posted the new, full length Nine Inch Nails album, The Slip, online as a DRM-free digital download.

A companion physical product will be available in July.

Reznor says on NIN's official site, "thank you for your continued and loyal support over the years - this one's on me."

This is the second surprise album released by Reznor since NIN's contract with Interscope expired last fall.

Reznor's been a vocal opponent of corporate music's 'traditional practices'. He's said in the past, "As a reward for being a 'true fan' you get ripped off."

      Re: Shelly H – NIN never went away, the group members just changed but Trent Reznor always was and will remain NIN, he just surrounds himself with different musicians on some albums because he feels they are good for what he wants his music to sound like live, as most of the time they only join the band to tour with him.
      But he NEVER went away or even stopped making music, he actually made quite a lot recently, Year Zero came out last year and he toured Europe last summer, then he released one album (Ghosts I - IV which includes 36 songs) for free on his website ONLY a few months ago and now he is releasing for free again this one. So you may not be aware of all of this, but this certainly is not a comeback as he never went away.
