I will respond to Perez's post—Oil rising SUCKS. I work in the airline field and for every dollar gas rises…it means cutting MILLIONS of dollars out of our budget! People are losing jobs, and it isn't funny. Everything is tied to oil. We are so dependant on it and it is very very scary. Our whole world functions on oil! I miss the days of $.88 gallon gas. I am not very old, but remember this price when the Gulf War was on in the early 90's.
I hope things turn around. Not likely though. We will be saying "gosh gas is $3.30 a gallon, what a steal!"
Just run a squiggy Across Mooriah's face…. That will solve the current oil crisis.

Blah, blah, blah…yeah, we in the US are paying out our wazoo, because we are not alloweded to drill or build new refinaries in the US. We, the US have more oil than the OPEC, but because we have to play to the environmentalists, we will never see an bit of it. I am very much a naturalist, but in all honesty, I'd rather see us live independantly then worry about the carribou. I am ok with my choice.

We're definately running outta oil…we hit the peak and now its downhill from there…by 2050 there will be no more oil left…but guess what…everyone will still be using oil jsut as much as they are right now until the year 2050 when its all gone and no1's going to know what to do with themselves…so sad

Do you not remember in the 90s when the Clinton's said Oil would get up to $5 a gallon before 2010? Not that I am blaming them either. That would be equally as stupid.
The Big Oil companies know that oil is going out. THEY want to be the ones to control whatever replaces it. They are using this excess money to keep their monopoly. That is all. (At least they are looking for other fuel sources)
They don't care if it's oil, or dog shit. If we need it to run our vehicles, THEY want to have the market on it.
Gas is actually $.10 cheaper here this week.
Quick economic lesson on why the $.18 gas tax repeal won't work:
When supply is fixed, demand will usually set the price at the efficient level. Once you lower the price, the demand will increase, but the supply will stay the change. This means as demand increases, so will the price. In the end the gas prices will just go right back up to the same level, if not higher. The only way to cut gas prices will be to increase supply or find alternative sources. I was all for repealing the tax until I thought about it from an economic sense.
This is exactly why i bought an 2006 mitsubishi lancer last week cuz those babies don't waste gas for NADA!!! I fucking love it! Driving in Miami is a bitch to begin with, and the gas is taking up half my dang paychecks. Fuck SUV's Hummers, waste of space and gas!! Riding on my lancer is the shit. I spent 20 bucks and it can last me like 2-3 days max. Be smart and buy small cars!!! SUVS are overrated and too damn big.
