Out With The Old

There's a lot of changes going on with Project Runway. Let's hope it's for the best!

Reports are surfacing that there might be another magazine trying to partner with the show once its contract with Elle expires.

Elle is contracted to be part of the show through its fifth season, which will be its last season on Bravo.

Once the show starts its sixth season on Lifetime, it could have a new magazine, with sources close to the show stating that Marie Claire is expressing an interest in participating.

Would that ever happen, though? Would Project Runway drop Elle? Well, they dropped Bravo, so why not?

Not to mention that Marie Claire is published by Hearst Magazines, whose parent company is co-owner of Lifetime with The Walt Disney Co.

Keeping it all in the family!

The show will also face another change. For the new season, it'll be filming half of its episodes in Los Angeles.

Why?

Well, to accommodate for Heidi Klum's schedule, of course. So obviously this means we're going to see a lot of "Hollywood" type of challenges, though the finale will still be taped in February during New York's fashion week.

A spokesperson for Marie Claire said, "We think 'Project Runway' is a fantastic show, but to speculate at this point beyond season five would be, as [season four winner] Christian Siriano says, 'A hot mess!'"

Will anyone still be watching the showing a year from now on Lifetime????

project runway can not be filmed and moved to LA! there is no real fashion there! heidi should just deal and stay in NYC while this is going on. i'm so not going to be into it if it's going to be done in LA.

  8. #8 - Holly Golightly says – reply to this

    Posh works it.

  9. #9 - Jules says – reply to this

LA has absolutely nothing to do with fashion. All people wear in LA are designer sweat pants and cheap looking jersey mini dresses. This is a travesty.

Lifetime = Golden Girls + movies about battered wives. They will never change that.

Who did Heidi Klum fuck to become a model? She is one ugly ass chic!!!

i miss zacquisha! where is that hot piece of ass?

  13. #13 - ughh says – reply to this

disgusting. marie claire has the least fashion cred than any other magazine. harpers bazaar would be divine, or instyle. dont think vogue would ever want to associate though.

  14. #14 - Heidi looks like Pheobe says – reply to this

Heidi looks like Phoebe from "FRIENDS" in this picture. I like her better without bangs. My husband thought she was Phoebe.

  15. #15 - JR says – reply to this

Of course I'll be watching. PR is FABULOUS!

  16. #16 - WHAT IS SHE KNOWN FOR?? says – reply to this

What's wrong with Klum these days? She looks like a disco big bird queen. Her style [if you would care to call it that] is always the same. Shirts that glitter, tight pants, and high heels. WASSUP?

  17. #17 - Jenn says – reply to this

Who the hell reads Marie Claire?

  18. #18 - @ least says – reply to this

At least she's one of the few models that resemble OLIVE OIL these days.

  19. #19 - marc says – reply to this

i will watch no matter what network it is on. i do worry about the show being filmed in LA because there isn't much inspiration there. hopefully the designers will still have a NY-type influence while creating.

  20. #20 - Mamarazzi says – reply to this

Maybe Nina is not "out" for Season 6. She was seen leaving the Hearst building last week. I wonder who she met with and what they talked about….

  21. #21 - tota says – reply to this

I will watch it cause I love the show and it's going to take just a click on the remote control… people!!!!

  22. #22 - Astrochicks.com says – reply to this

I love the show. I would watch it on a Cable Access show. It's fun, bitchy, and addicting.

  23. #23 - Jon says – reply to this

I will be, its the best show on earth!!!! I have watched every show since it started! Im so excited that the show is going to continue atleast to a 6th season! I am sad to hear that it is leaving Bravo! though. Bravo! is my favorite channel, its definitely the gayest network out there other than LoGo, but LoGo definitely dont have nothing on Bravo! lol. Lifetime is ok i guess, but i would prefer the show to stay where it is. Im sad to see it leaving. I cant wait for season 5 to start. Im definitely a Project Runway Expert, and would love to be in the tents during New York Fashion Week!!!! That would definitely be a dream come true……I hope that Project Runway lives on atleast until the 10th season!!! I just love it so much!

  24. #24 - ohno says – reply to this

I worry about the show. First, moving to Lifetime, now hints of cast changes and part-time filming in LA!?!? NYC is one of the things that made this show stand out from the rest. It's like SATC, New York is like one of the cast members!!

  25. #25 - Leah says – reply to this

Yeah!!! It's one of my favorite shows. I just hope that they won't change it too much and it starts to go down hill.

  26. #26 - Scamp says – reply to this

Everyone is going to bail on this show the minute it hits Lifetime. Bravo may be campy but at least it's watched by people up 50.

Marie Claire? Wow, that's high fashion. Cat Fancy wasn't available.

  27. #27 - dj says – reply to this

this next season will be a stretch and the following season, on Lifetime, will be officially….tired.
    I'm bummed.

  28. #28 -  says – reply to this

I love PR but lifetime?… not a good pick for the network.

  29. #29 - @ least says – reply to this

oops…I meant one of the few who doesn't.

  30. #30 - This don't make no cents says – reply to this

    I don't like Heidi's attire et all.

  31. #31 - Drake says – reply to this

GO 2 HELL PREZ WITH THIS LAME ASS STORY IN YOUR FAT HAND.

  32. #32 - toy says – reply to this

I think moving to Lifetime was a bad move. And considering I dont even know what number Lifetime is on my cable rotation, I probably won't make the effort to find it once the show comes back on.

  33. #33 - dated....and expired says – reply to this

heidi went out looking like that? lulz!!!

  34. #34 - ewelina says – reply to this

i will be watching on you tube cuz i don`t have bravo or lifetime, i`m from Poland . and if you ask why Heidi is ugly the answer is simple-she`s german

  35. #35 - Heidi looks like Pheobe says – reply to this

Heidi, please don't wear 3 inch heels. They make your big feet look like canooes.

  36. #36 - tash says – reply to this

    NOPE.
Once it leaves Bravo, Im not watching. I refuse to watch Lifetime. Im on strike till they bring back the Golden Girls!!!!!!!

  37. #37 - Cait says – reply to this

Yes!! I love love love Project Runway.. and although the channel is changing, it's not going to take away from the innovativeness of the show.

  38. #38 - Brice says – reply to this

and nina garcia has been seen a lot lately in and around the hearst building, with rumors that marie claire would be the most obvious choice for her at the publishing co - so, this all makes perfect sense

  39. #39 - Hyde says – reply to this

Hell no, I won't be watching. I'll be over on Hallmark watching the Golden Girls.

  40. #40 - JB says – reply to this

What is Project Runway without Nina Garcia!?!?! Nina is a staple of the show. She's that B**** you love to hate.

  41. #41 - twin says – reply to this

i'll def still watch it but i'll have to check the channel guide to figure out what channel is lifetime

  42. #42 - RADICAL QUEEN says – reply to this

Re: nonCYboY – MY GOODNESS DAHHHHLING…YOU CERTAINLY HAVE QUITE THE KNACK FOR BEING FIRST ON PEREZ'S THREADS….I HEART PROJECT RUNWAY TOO…I REALLY REALLY HEART IT….BUT IF THEY'RE GONNA DUMP ELLE THEN THEY SHOULD FIND A BETTER MAGAZINE TO PARTNER WITH. I DON'T CARE IF THEY SHARE A PARENT COMPANY, MARIE CLAIRE IS FOR ADOLECENT GIRLS….NOT FASHIONISTAS. I SAY THEY SHOULD SUCK UP TO MS ANNA WINTOUR AND GO FOR VOGUE…OR AT THE VERY LEAST, HARPER'S BAZAR….BUT NOT MARIE CLAIRE !!!! AND THEY NEED TO KEEP NINA…I HEART ME SOME NINA BIG TIME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  43. #43 - Lauren says – reply to this

Hells Yeah I will until they cancel this shiza! This is one of very few reality shows that explore creativity and have competitions that test the competitor's artistic abilities and their ability to adapt to any situation. This is not rock of love who is the most manipulative vindictive whore, this show is actually productive and as an artist I really find inspiration from this show. This show does have characters on it but they do edit it to make people appear one dimensional and as divaesque as possible - on the quest for ratings, and if that is the only thing they do to cheapen the show - I am fine with it. Hey, it's more entertaining this way!

  44. #44 - caca says – reply to this

beckem is still looking pretty pissed!

  45. #45 - NotInMyLifetime says – reply to this

Project Runway is/was in my top 5 but you can bet I am not going to be watching some watered down & super sappy Lifetime Version with some guest judge from Marie Claire - who reads that magazine - middle aged, Midwestern housewives - not fashionistas. IDIOTS!

  46. #46 - Lu says – reply to this

    Hell Yes.
    Why Not?
The only difference will be the damn commercials!
I don't care what channel its on.

  47. #47 - badbadbad says – reply to this

They should end the show while they're ahead. All these changes will no doubt kill it in the ratings anyway. Tim Gunn, do NOT sell out!! Leave the runway now while you still have your dignity!

  48. #48 - sparrow says – reply to this

    Losing Nina is bad enough.
What will happen with TIM GUNN if they're in LA???? :(
If they lose Tim, its OVAH.

  49. #49 - Beckman is fug says – reply to this

Victoria wishes she could model. She's a skinny little pig face. Ugly woman.

  50. #50 - hyde says – reply to this

They could always hire Naomi Campbell and partner with NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC!

  51. #51 - cal-1 says – reply to this

If it is shot in LA, I would assume that means no Tim Gunn - or only Tim Gunn for the final eps. I don't see any way he could do it with his job at Liz Claiborne being based in NYC. :(

  52. #52 - Lauren says – reply to this

does anyone else look at a picture of victoria, and just doesn't see her being mentally well enough for her to have kids? she's standing in that photo with her grimace and she looks like the unhappiest person on earth. i feel bad for her

  53. #53 - AMO says – reply to this

I love Nina Garcia! She's the only one on the panel who knows real style. Michael Kors only likes what he would make.

  54. #54 - Harry Joseph says – reply to this

Get rid of Michael K's knock off designing ass! How can you judge anyone on fashion when your collection of purses last year were a complete knock off of LV bags. Oh well the difference of MK's all over your bags. He is a fat fashion has been that is jealous of designers with real talent like Marc Jacobs.

  55. #55 - hanie says – reply to this

    Eew.

1 - Nina Garcia is the best judge on the show. Yes, the set of judges here is actually the best in any reality competition show. But Nina Garcia is still the best one in eloquently telling the truth from a fashion insider's point of view. Michael is about the actual designs coz he's a designer. Heidi is about the buyer coz she's a former model who actually wore designs. And Nina is about the industry.

2 - Marie Claire is not high fashion. Elle isn't excactly Vogue. But it still has tons more credibility than Marie Cliare.

3 - LA? Come on now. It's like VS moving to LA. Too commercial.

  56. #56 - Margharita says – reply to this

Nina is the best Judge on the show. She tells the truth and has the most unbiased point of view. I say keep her on the show and forget MC and dump ELLE where it's now headed in the wrong direction.

  57. #57 - audra says – reply to this

if they put the show on lifetime and had marie claire as the new magazine partnered then I would definitely be "out".

  58. #58 - verna says – reply to this

    this new show will suck!

  59. #59 - Stephanie says – reply to this

I love project runway, and i'll watch it forever if it ran that long.

  60. #60 - Jack says – reply to this

Ugh this is horrible. I think the show will bomb on lifetime. And Marie Claire is sutch a stupid magazine no one reads it. Elle was allready a little "ugh" How can the show be taken seriously by fashion if Its filmed in LA and partnered with Marie Claire. Its sounds retarded. Lets not hope that they start showing in LA fashion week. That would suck.
