What a relief!
To recap - early this morning, we heard the terrifying news that 54-year-old Robert Dewey Hoskins, a man who was convicted of stalking and threatening Madonna, had escaped from a mental hospital in Norwalk, CA.
The LAPD were describing the man as follows:
"…A very psychotic man when not taking his medication and has very violent tendencies."
Now, we're VERY happy to report that the Los Angeles Police Department have captured Madonna's very dangerous stalker!
The LAPD announced that Hoskins was found around 9 a.m. this morning "not far from the mental facility from which he escaped."
He's currently in police custody and he's being escorted back to the hospital.
We're just glad that nobody was hurt while this man was on the loose. We're ESPECIALLY glad that he wasn't able to get close to Madonna.
Great job, LAPD! We're very pleased and impressed!

First. And why shouldn't they be split? I spent 2 mos. there this winter, have had relatives there for years; I've spent time there and think that maybe it's a good idea. Is this all you have to write about, Perez?

Florida is already basically considered two parts anyway. When referring to where you live, you almost always say North Florida or South Florida. So, I don't see why they feel the need to make it official. Ft. Lauderdale sucks anyway. Jim Naugle (the mayor) is a piece of shit homophobe. This is a brilliant idea. The regions are really two separte entities. And maybe it will stop South Florida from stealing all of our water for their golf courses.
The reason why this is being talked about is the large difference in the amount of income paid to the state by the southern counties as opposed to the northern and then the opposiste way the good ole boys club in Tallahasse splits it up.
So now Florida will be separated into South Georgia and Little Cuba? Culturally it already is.

This is a movement in California too. The separtion between South California and North California is a smart move when you think of all the water the southern part of the state uses as compared to the north.

well… it IS like two states. I was born in North Florida - rednecks, country music, farms, pick up trucks. And I go to school in South Florida - guidos from New Jersey, Hispanics out the ass, Hatians too, fast cars, big buildings, nude beaches and lots of gay guys!

I live in Orlando which is located in Central Florida so let's just split the state 3 ways instead. 3's a lucky number when splitting things and god knows, we need all the luck we can get. Does anyone realize the political reprecausions as in the states electoral college will become split as well. Going from one of the most highly populated and effective states to two separate ones? Also, it will fuck up the senate and the house of representatives. I lived in Florida for 7 yrs and I live in Daytona, and I always heard it referred to and referred to it myself as the east and west coasts. However, it's easy to see ppl wanting a fast solution to their problems and for each region to blame the other. But Florida- look at it on a larger scale, please.

Well I'm from Florida and I think this is actually a pretty good idea. North and South Florida are like two completely different planets. South Florida is basically NY without the snow, and North Florida (ironically) has more of a Southern/Country vibe….. "redneck" if you will. I doubt this will pull through, but let's wait and see.
