Likely To BOMB!

The latest film directed by the "mysterious" Wachowski brothers, Speed Racer, might not do as well as hoped for in the box office this weekend.

The BIG budget movie will open this Friday in about 3,600 screens across the U.S.

Unfortunately for the film, it's been receiving very unimpressive ratings in its pre-release surveys.

So will Iron Man win at the box office this weekend again?

Last weekend, Iron Man made over $100 million!

At the moment, Speed Racer seems like it will gross about $25-$35 million during its opening weekend, though it might gross more. But, estimates are low.

This is a BIG disappointed considering how much it cost to make the race car comic book adaptation - well over $100 million, easily.

So, even if Iron Man makes only half of what it did last weekend, it's still likely to come in first again and beat out Speed Racer.

Ouch!

Warner Bros. domestic distribution president, Dan Fellman, says, "It's too early to tell. But this is the first real family movie of the summer, and we're going to give it our best."

Translation: "We're fucked. And we know it!"

But more importantly, will U go watch?

I am not a studio plant MetalWater, I am a freshmen at Webster University in St. Louis…my friend interns at WB and I was just in it to see a free movie. The movie is really good..ill admit, it was a bit long for a kids movie…even though it shouldnt be considered a kids movie…I do feel bad because it is getting slaughtered people before it comes out…and another thing MetalWater…you should form your own opinion, I feel bad for you if Rotten Tomato is your guideline to seeing movies and giving them a chance. point is, the movies good…the advertising for the movie sucked…but the movies good, get over it

Oh and another thing….why does anyone want to see the trailer for Twilight? That movie looks dumb as hell. A vampire in love with a human? How original…nice try…but we've seen it before…Buffy? Oh and they pretty much just made it into a modern Romeo & Juliet, but half the family are vampires. Twilight looks weak, and its been overdone.

TWILIGHT TRAILER IS IN THIS FILM!!!!!! SO I will be seeing it just for the trailer because Twilight is my drug and i suggest you all to go read the novel or search up Twilight and get to know it. GET INTO IT!!!! This film/book will totally kick Harry Potter butt once it's released on Decemeber 12th this year!!

This movie looks hoorible. Namely because of the annoying lead actor Emile Hirsch. He is absolutely hideous to look at, so unphotogenic. It is obvious he is some rich Jewish kid who got hooked up in the entertainment industry. It is ridiculous he is getting all these key roles that a million other young actors could have done much better with.

I saw the Twilight trailer, and sadly it's not great…just better than Speed Racer, which isn't a difficult task!!! Save your money and don't spend it on Speed Racer, just to see the Twilight Trailer, I think you'll feel ripped-off. You can watch the Twilight Trailer instead on Mania.com!!! I am sorry it is not a better teaser, but it looks like they didn't cast very good actors and the direction does not appear to be professional.

Pamula, I didnt pay to see this movie, I went to the screening of the movie with my friend. Twilight has been done before. I didnt say the book was a shit fest, im saying the movie will be…the casting is terrible, and the cinematography alone in the trailer looks terrbile. believe me Pamula, I am open minded..maybe you should be too towards Speed Racher.

Save your money.. see Speed Racer for Speed Racer.

Watch the Twilight trailer on line.. it looked like a reject from the WB.. like Dawson's Crrek meets Buffy with a hint of Twin Peaks.
