      Well he is 100% correct.

      There are far too many people out there who think they can sing, and they cannot sing to save their lives, and they need to be told that to their faces. Too bad if it hurts their poor little egos. Lots of people suck at singing but most people like myself who can't sing won't pretend that I have a chance in hell at making it as a singer.

      The problem is too many idiots out there think that drive and ambition are a substitute for real talent.

      If I had Simon's job, I'd love to tell all these morons who were raised with too much self esteem, you suck, you can't sing, you have no future as a singer so just give it up now.

      I can't respect Idol contestants. I know a few folks who made it big, but they didn't get a quick pass from a silly TV show. They make it much too cushy for them. The only TRUE talent is Carrie Underwood. You never really hear much from most of the Idol winners. Where is Ruben?

      I can see his point of view. You wonder with incredulity just how pervasively delusion can exist in any given individual, and then you find yourself wondering how and why a person who is so obviously tone deaf can become that old and still have absolutely no idea that they ARE tone deaf. Is the mantra that 'anything is possible' when reality holds that some things are just not (for certain inherent talents) or parental coddling responsible? Who knows, but it CAN make for some curiously interesting viewing.

      Strange but I don´t find it addictive. It was funny to watch at the beginning but then it became too predictive. Nothing special in listening people who cannot sing.It´s sometimes only indeed funny. C´mon…Cowell just tryes to sell the show when the concept is getting old.

      I agree acctually. Folks ,what is so special in showing people who can not do smth? Sometimes it´s funny but …? Is it crime to not be able to sing and believe in that. It´s common in life generally about other things too.People overestimate often their abilities…. or opposite-do not believe in themselves too.Lack of self judgement. What´s so new in that or interesting?

And his quote is true: after all, he surrounded himself with people like Paula, Randy and Seacrest - three of the most useless individuals ever. But watch them we do. As for the Idol contestants, some can sing, some can't. And the winners are not necessarily the ones who can sing. And even the ones who CAN sing, don't always get what it takes to really be a success, eh, Fantasia? Like, when you sign a contract to appear on Broadway, it might be a good thing to show up regularly? Even Clay has that one figured out.
