Stop Faking It

Though the show is set in New York City, Ugly Betty is currently filmed entirely in Los Angeles.
That may change next season!
TV Guide is reporting that the show's 'gettin' real' — Ugly Betty productions could be moving to New York by next season!
According to insiders, ABC execs see the East Coast move as both a way to cut costs ("It's generally cheaper to shoot in the city you're trying to portray") and give the show an authentic New York feel.
Makes sense to us!

and who cares?
WHEN IS IT COMING TO ENGLAND??

and, does it matter?
the location means nothing.
its just about making it look like the place..
hardly anything is shot where it says it is.
Duh douceags i meen if its supposed to be in the city make it in the city lol!
it's confirmed
.. i got a friend that works with the show, and they're pretty much fireing everyone, except writers and actors, and moving to ny!
First !!!!!
1st
First !!!
First !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:)
as much as I like the cast, the show is WHACK! It tries way too hard to be funny and it just comes off as annoying. The message it is trying to send out is great, but they are not pulling it off. Go watch REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES
This is a bad idea on so many levels. FANS of the show don;t give a flying fuck if the show is filmed in L.A. .. NY.. MIami… or LONDON. If the writing is not good it doesn;t matter where it is filmed. I have never watched a show because of where it is filmed. SEX N THE CITY made sense because they used a lot of shot from buldings. Filming in the city is not always cheaper either.
who cares
Do people actually watch this show???
ughhhhh not another show, blocking our streets and making the city more crowded!
..
Sure it matters! NY is the coolest place in the world. The only problem is that it's near NJ:))
hilary clinton can suk my balls!
and by the time i pressed submit comment im probably number 456th
next season?? eh? this show gets horrible ratings. why do you think there will be a new season??
If this is true I am happy for Vanessa Williams. Her family is in NY and I know the constant back and forth traveling bothers her so it would free her up some
awesome! I hope they start filming Betty's home stuff in my nabe: Jackson Heights.
Just so you know, as a member of the crew of Ugly Betty, this is purely a financial move- ABC Studios made this decision without consent. The studio will be saving 13 million dollars a year due to the new mayor's tax incentives. They informed the entire crew this morning that everyone is unemployed after Friday. The crew help make the show what it is & it will definitely lose production value due to re-staffing. The art directors, production designers & costumers is so import to the look of this show & only a select few will be moved to NYC. So all of us loyal to Betty for the last two years are left with little more than an unemployment check.
Yay, get Michael Urie back in NY!
didn't they start the show filming in nyc & then later moved production to LA? i'm glad to hear that they'll be back. hopefully their scripts will get better, too!
If I'm not mistaken the original pilot was actually shot here. Then it was retooled and moved to LA when the series was picked up.
Ugly Betty was originally filmed in New York and then moved to Los Angeles because of budget issues, but I guess they have a bigger budget now that they are a hit show.
who the hell is US? why are you so stupid you refer to yourself in the 3rd person?
Great… another TV show filming in the city…
It pisses me off enough when Gossip Girl creates traffic delays and makes me take detours.
This will not help things.
Fantastic.
thepilot was done in NY and I think most of the first season..don't know why they moved it.
200 people on the production lost the job today because the show is moving to New York. ABC studios is telling their crew members that they are moving the show because of the 35% tax rebate they get from New York. Yes, it does matter to people on the production and vendors who had businesses with the show!
Study: 25% of LA's Welfare Goes to Illegal Aliens
L.A. County Supervisor Mike Antonovich says the county spends more than $1 billion a year on benefits to illegals.
According to new data from the Department of Public Social Services, nearly twenty five percent of Los Angeles County 's welfare and food stamp benefits goes directly to the children of illegal aliens, at a cost of $36 million a month — for a projected annual cost of $432 million.
"The total cost for illegal immigrants to County taxpayers far exceeds $1 billion a year - not including the millions of dollars for education," said Antonovich.
"With $220 million for public safety, $400 million for healthcare, and $432 million in welfare allocations, illegal immigration continues to have a devastating impact on Los Angeles County taxpayers."
The supervisor said, in March, illegals collected over $19 million in welfare assistance and over $16 million in food stamp allocations.
Yeah, let's make it real by shooting in NYC!
…and I suppose you thought Will & Grace was shot in NYC? Uh-uh…LA
sooo excited… saw my first episode in a long time last thursday and it was like a bubble bath. fab
