For all you fans of House: we have a scoop that might make your day!
TV Guide is reporting that a spinoff from Fox's acclaimed show is being quietly developed for next season.
A new male character, who'll have a multi-episode storyline, is being introduced and if the actor cast makes the role 'work', then chances are good that said new male will get the 2.0 show!
AND, the new character won't be a doc, says well-placed insiders. He's going to be a private investigator!

I don't get it. I read this already. Why would we be excited if we don't know who the star is? And that seems like a stretch to put a lot of money into a new character who will eventually get a spin off. Look what happened on Grey's Anatomy.

Way old news. The story arc was from last season. House was busted for Vicodin crimes by a cop he humiliated during an exam. The cop was House-like in his bitchiness, and was played by David Morse. The story wrapped up in this January 2007 episode:

There was talk in 2006 of this arc being a "pilot" for a show starring Morse.
As much as I trust the writers of House I am unsure the new show will have the same charm if not focused on House himself. That said, I'll be tuning in to see for myself.
BIG MISTAKE! If the show is a hit, why to mess with it? Spinoffs shows lack of originality. C'mon guys. Focus on the show, give us good storylines and stop playing stupid!

No spinoff from House could be as well received because Dr. House is the show…it works so well because of his sarcastic portrayal of the great Dr. House and those fellow castmembers who feed off him.

I think if there MUST be a spinoff, it should center around Cameron and Chase, who aren't featured in House as much these days.
House could remain as it has been this year, with Cameron and Chase making small appearances, and the spinoff could be more in-depth on them, with Dr. House and everyone else making small appearances.
A spinoff could work, but only if it features characters we already care about.

House has gone downhill this season. I hate the new characters and the new episodes aren't nearly as well written as the first 2 seasons. The only way that I 'll watch a spin off is if Jesse Spencer is cast in the lead

Um what? House is as popular as it is because of HUGH LAURIE's fabulous acting and the wonderful character of Dr. House. Other than that, th whole show is kinda mediocre. But still I watch every episode, Hugh is just that amazing.. damn funny.

They'll have whoever this person is come onto House playing some PI and if the audience is receptive enough, they'll spin this character off onto another show. I have no idea why they would think this was a good idea. People tune into House for Dr. House and Hugh Laurie. Plus ratings are down a lot for this season of House. Truthfully, I tune in for Dr. Wilson and Robert Sean Leonard. They should spin his character off into a show. Better yet, I wish House and Wilson had their own show because their scenes are the only ones I care about. Maybe for this alleged spin-off, they can put Chase and Cameron on there. They need to do something about the much too large cast on House. I don't know about this, though. That Ausiello is wrong a lot when it comes to his spoilers. He isn't exactly credible.

i really tired of all these detective/mystery shows. i love the show, house, but that spinoff is probably going to get taken off the air or even before it premieres like the show, new amsterdam. new amsterdam only got put back on air b/c of the writer's strike.
