Star Jones was wrong to vent. The gastric bypass surgery is a FACT. It happened. Her words show there's still denial on Jones' part, a refusal to loudly admit that she sought surgery. Walters is "in the sunset of her life"? She could be a decade or more yet among the living. Jones made the decision to greedily accept freebies, make endorsements on "The View" in violation of network standards and practices ( something a lawyer should have been well familiar with) and promote herself as a giddy bride. She chose to dismiss as "rumors" her intended's apparent homosexuality. She thrilled in adopting the lifestyle of the rich and famous, with very little work output. I saw her show on Court TV. Jones was a poor interviewer; she constantly interrupted her guests and didn't have the correct cadence for headlining a show. Its early demise was inevitable.
It remains to be seen whether Jones will become an "adulterer" herself, as she's already gone cougar. But to call Ms. Walters an "icon" in one breath and basically an old broad in the next was bad form. Yes, she is promoting a book, but self-promotion is something Star Jones should be very familiar with.
One cannot put one's business out there, as Jones had, and then decry the violation of privacy after inviting the public to peek inside her gilded life.
Did Starr Jones REALLY think that no one knew she had gastric bypass?? It's not like everyone is shocked because Barara Walters put it in print. HEY STARR - EVERYONE HAS KNOWN FOR YEARS BABE! AND BY THE WAY, YOUR SOON TO BE EX-HUSBAND IS GAY!
I actually agree with Star on this one. The way she unblinkingly replied that the only regret she had in terms of her affair was that the guy didn't get re-elected really blew me away. I respectfully disagree with Star. Secrecy and cover ups are not the way to go when you pen a biography and sign your name to it. Truth matters to Barbara because she's a journalist, AND she talked it over with the man before she included it. He was not innocent, and anyway, he is divorced from the woman he was married to at the time, and happily married to another now. It's old history, but it's accurate, and that's all. Barbara's book would have sold just fine had he said no to including it, because she is legend.
The best is when Babs said her poor ass couldn't afford the wedding she wanted and had to go begging for sponsors. That is sad.
