Despite the insane media attention that followed her surprise wedding to Nick Cannon last week, Mariah Carey's new single, Bye Bye, has plummeted on this week's Soundscan singles chart in America.
The song drops from #22 to #41.
Sucks for her!
People may be interested in her wedding, but it seems like they don't care about her single!
Madonna, on the other hand, is doing quite well on the chart.
4 Minutes is currently at #3 this week and her second single, Give It 2 Me, debuted at #21.

I like a lot of Mariah's music, but "Bye Bye" is not a good song. It's generic and not very original. I loved "Touch My Body", but this song just doesn't make the mark. Nor does the video, which is poorly made.

During "Hard Candy's" release week, Madonna did not perform on TV. In fact, she has yet to perform on American TV to promote this album. • Madonna did, however, stage a well-publicized club show at the Roseland Ballroom in New York on April 30, which was streamed online via MSN. But a club show — no matter how hot — can't compare with the impact "American Idol" and Oprah Winfrey has. I just downloaded Hard Candy and it SUCKS. I have loved every Madonna album from Like a Prayer to Confessions (yes, I even thought American Life was well done) but this album is shite. some good beats but her lyrics are horrible and the vocal melodies are flat. The songs mostly sound like her B-side bomb tracks from the 80's like Physical Attraciton and White Heat…remember them? OF COURSE YOU DON"T CAUSE THEY SUCKED
