This Does Not Bode Well: Another Hollywood Strike Is Upon Us
Things aren't looking good. Hollywood may have another strike on their hands!
This times, it's the thespians at war with the big media moguls.
The studio/producer suits have broken off contract talks with the Screen Actors Guild cuz - they claim - SAG's DVD sales and online demands are "unreasonable."
The suits say there's no reason for another extension of talks.
The first rounds of talks lasted 18 days.
SAG president Alan Rosenberg said the decision to halt talks was unfortunate and deeply troubling.
SAG's contract for films and primetime TV shows expires June 30th.
Another strike would be DISASTROUS for Hollywood!
As we mentioned before, the smaller actors union, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists is not working together with SAG on a unified deal.
It's AFTRA that will be meeting with the suits on Wednesday at the bargaining table.
Hopefully, SAG and the suits work something out before the June deadline.
Strikes suck, but we we 100% support the actors. They should get what they deserve!

Yeah Im sick of this. I don't support the writers! I understand where they are coming from but even before the strike they didn't deserve a great deal of money cause they barely entertained us. Reality TV shows started kicking their scripted ass. I just don't believe they deserve much of anything when the most shows they throw out during a non strike season are 4 or 5 because even a year ago they were throwing out that many shows a season. Oh and its awesome they are getting another break for summer they earned it with all that hard work they did for us. Screw them.

I'll get back to ya on the sympathy for actors when my overworked, underpaid and underappreciated police officer husband can get paid a decent wage and not have to work 3 jobs just to help keep our family out of the homeless shelter. Otherwise…I'm totally over TV and haven't gone to a theatre to watch a movie in years. I am so fed up with actors spouting their political views and taking advantage of their so-called fame. During the writers' strike, everyone (especially those holier than thou actors) forgot about the most important people, the viewers. We were just left in the dirt. Well, guess what? Please, Perez. Actors are so f-ing overpaid it's ridiculous. They are the least talented people on a movie or tv set. I'm all for them getting paid in relation to their box office or market draw, but they have almost no financial risk unless they are producing, in which case they are making a producer's cut.

I have to say, this would blow! I work in the industry, and the writer's strike was a horrible blow to everyone behind the scenes. An actor's strike would be crippling. The demands ARE unreasonable, as background actors make up most of SAG, and they wouldn't benefit from the strike. Either would all the two hundred or so crew that make every TV show and film possible. The average crew member works 14-16 hours a day and makes less in one year than many actors do in one episode!!!!
Oh yes, by all means, give them MORE millions of dollars. They can hardly make ends meet. They need that new $4,000 handbag. Jesus Christ, how much money do these douchebags really need? All they do is play dress up!
