I went to watch this with my 7 year old nephew. I put up with it for his sake and tried to pretend I was interested, even though it really isnt that good and so over the top. Anyway, I asked him what he thought of it and he said it was boring and horrible. So even some young boys dont like it!

Once again Perez is totally wrong basing his entire opinion on 6 short minutes of a 2 hour movie. Jeez. I got to see an early press screening of this movie last week and I totally loved it. The race scenes were exciting, it was funny, and there was an actual story. The visuals are eye popping and I never had one of those 'roll my eyes' moments. I enjoyed this movie just as much or MORE than Iron Man.

I actually enjoyed it. It reminded me of the fun experiences I had when I was a kid. I might take my godson to it this weekend. Plus, It looks like it could be a cult classic among the drug community. Could you imagine the trippiness of this film?

I think what may have brought this movie down a couple of notches is the attempt to keep with the original, light atmosphere of the cartoon.
I thought the scene where Lil' Speed was in his fantasy racing zone was a pretty accurate interpretation of a child's imagination. Other than that, I think the colors and cars will be mesmerizing on home Blue Ray DVD!

Hmm, sidenote…why does it seem like the Wachowski have done the best work with "stolen ideas" (The Matrix Trilogy), than with originals (V for Vendetta) or possibly this current update of Speed Racer?

Criss Angel Responds To Recording Of Altercation! Says Producer Provoked Him!

There are two sides to every story! Here's his!

In light of the audio recording released yesterday that featured Criss Angel threatening to knock out one of his producers, the illusionist's attorney, Ken Woloson, has released the following statement:

"Criss Angel was in the process of firing Joe Safuto on Wednesday when Safuto became abusive and Criss asked him to leave. Criss decided to fire Safuto in response to repeated complaints from co-workers and other magicians about Safuto's abusive and violent behavior and general ineptitude. Witnesses have attested that there was no physical contact and that Safuto very clearly was the antagonist. The audio released to the media is a snippet of a much longer conversation. We are exploring legal action against Mr. Safuto, including for his defamatory and illegal conduct."

Ouch! Sounds like he means business!
