Good news for her Madgesty!
Reports are surfacing that officials in Malawi are finally going to grant FULL adoption rights to Madonna and her family.
Her Madgesty has been caring for her son David on an 18-month interim custody order that was granted back in 2006.
Madge and her family were recently being monitored at their London home by Malawian social workers to ensure they were suitable parents.
A leaked official document referring to Madonna and Guy Ritchie, states, "Mr. and Mrs. Ritchie have shown a strong commitment in providing the infant with all essential needs like love, safe home environment, care, protection, material as well as emotional support."
It adds that David had "bonded well with the couple and other key members of the household" and that he "continues to develop into a happy thriving toddler. His survival, growth and development is excellent."
The court will hear a full review of the case next week on May 15th.
Madonna is expected to return to Malawi next week to continue her charity work. She will not be required during the hearing though.
An official says, "She will have to come to court to sign the full adoption documents later."
There are still those opposed to the whole adoption, such as the Human Rights Consultative Committee, which as "friends of the court", have decided to challenge the adoption. They are seeking a full review of the interim order granted to Madonna.

well I'm glad she gets to keep him. Sending him back would have probably meant death for him under the conditions in which they live. This child will have everything in the world handed to him - he was lucky. However, I do wish celebrities would perhaps start adopting children from right here in the USA - there are millions of abandoned, messed up, starved children right here that need love and a caring home to save them as well.

You have no idea what people have to go through to adopt: the mounds of paperwork, the extensive homestudy visits via social workers, the agonizing waits (for some, we're talking YEARS), the hard travels, not to mention the great emotional hurdles these parents AND children have to work through in order to be a family… Your headline is not only insulting but hurtful. The child has already been taken away from his family - he has a father in Malawi. Yes, David will grow up to be rich and healthy, and Madonna should be commended for that. It's a shame that he had to be taken out of his country and his culture for this to happen though. Why not help support his family in Malawi and allow him to grow up in the country he was born in.

As a proud adoptive mom, I am extremely offended and angry at your headline referencing a "purchase." Adoption isn't about buying babies, contrary to what ignorant people like to think. We adopted our beautiful son from Russia, and the costs associated with the adoption process were no more than that which we would have been charged in THIS COUNTRY had we had a hospital birth with no medical insurance.
So get a grip and STOP DEMEANING adoption. It is a beautiful way for people who want children and children who need parents to form a family.

Please do not add to the public's misconception about the money involved in adoption. It goes to lawyers and agencies who provide a service and not to "buy" a baby. Please remove that word. It's not funny.
Saying someone who is adopting is "purchasing" a child…that is just wrong. I am in the adoption process and resent that type of reference to adoption. She went through the proper legal channels…I'd questions Angelina's adoptions more as one day she didn't have a kid, and the next she did.
The paperwork and scrutiny during adoptions is overwhelming…just because she's a celebrity doesn't mean she escaped that. She just had lawyers and a team who could handle all of the paperwork quickly…much more quickly than the regular person can do on their own.
Please don't be so ignorant as to say "the purchase is complete." She's highlighting adoption as an option for people who want to have more kids…or who cannot have children of their own.

Dude, the father had places baby David in an orphanage and had not once visited the kid while it was in there … so what do you mean it has a father??? He played NO part in the kids life except for leaving it at the orphanage. The dad only came into view when it was Madonna who wanted to adopt the kid and the father was/is all for it!

Sure, the kid was placed in an orphanage by the dad because he had no money. Which by itself is of course a horrible situation. BUT not once did the father visit the kid after leaving it at the orphanage AND the father is for the adoption and has testified so in a court.
