Filed under: Film FlickersJake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel have been ordered by the Screen Actor's Guild to walk off the North Carolina set off their new movie, directed by the cantankerous David O. Russell, because of financing issues.

For those of you with a good memory (or not), David O. Russell is that scary director that got into a huge fight with Lily Tomlin (caught on tape) on the set of his last movie.

Why do actors bother with this guy, Russell. He's demeaning and disrespectful to his crew and sometimes actors. He's quite frightening. I personally don't even think he's movies are that great, but even if they were, nobody deserves the verbal (and sometimes physical) abuse he gives out to his crew. Now he has no control of his finances.
Director had spat with Clooney as well.
David O. Russell went to my college (Amherst College, not UMass Amherst) - therfore he is awesome.

The filming is in SOUTH Carolina. Right down from where I live… not in North Carolina. So get it right.
So the deal is that some of the financing isn't there yet and there might be some union violations that have to be straightened out. They are supposed to re-start the movie Monday or Tuesday according to blog reports. This time the problem isn't the crazy director. Except for the disagreement with James Caan, no one seems to mind him at all. Al Gore's daughter wrote the screenplay for this and it's supposed to really be funny.

Yes, that was the point of the story…where it's being shot! You South Carolina people are real whiny losers if you have to hype the fact that some lame ass movie is being made there. I've been watching the Nailed shoot and was wondering why everyone and everything associated with it vanished last Friday… hope they straighten it out - there are a lot of other jobs at stake besides the actors'.
He also is the one George Clooney punched out on the set of "Three Kings". The guy must be a prick.
Either way, I think the movie will bomb at the box office. Neither Biels or Gyllenhaal are good actors and their previous movies were bombs too. I dont think too many people are interested in seeing them on the big screen.

the movie is not in NORTH carolina. Its being filmed in Columbia, SOUTH Carolina. I'm a USC student and the whole crew has been filming by the SC State House for the last month or so, and using our gym.
NC and SC are like 2 different countries. The article says the set is in SC, NC pays their bills fool.
The film was only shutdown for only a day on Friday it'll start filming again this Monday or Tuesday in South Carolina ! !

I have been on set for a month…it is definitely in Columbia, South Carolina…give Jess and Jake and everyone else a break, this lack of funding is a result of a volatile market and overrated bonds, bad loans, etc…filming will resume eventually
