David Archuleta's overbearing stage father has been banned from American Idol.
The dad from hell will still be allowed to sit in the audiences during taping days, but that's it. He won't be allowed backstage or at rehearsals.
Producers are said to be fed up with Jeff Archuleta's shady ways, and other contestants were reportedly creeped out by him.
Let's hope David's dad is just like Joe Simpson and not Joe Jackson!

I'm 46 years old and I find Archuletta kind of creepy, with the lip licking. Plus his strange daddy. He's got some talent but nothing that I'm going to buy a CD for…i kind of find him rather annoying. He'll make a great cruise boat singer, for sure, but I don't go on cruises….creepy.
I'd love to see him end up at the bottom one week, just to smack some humility into him…..

Ever read "Valley of the Dolls"? Not only is it a good book, but there is a certain plotline that is eerily familar to this story. Perhaps you should check it out…. There may be more reasons for why the dad won't let his son be on his own.
I feel really bad for David. Just recently, a friend noticed that the guy always looks a little bit stressed out. Now I know…his father probably rules him with an iron fist. I hope David is able to take the high road and be confident in himself
David A's dad is a wacko…. I have seen these kinds of things a million times. He will make Dina Lohann look like Glenda the Good Witch of the North……. Not to mention and no offense to Perezzers but this kid has serious GAY FACE….. he will definately been one of the chosen few if he is not already at least within the next 5 years.
If his dad is a fuck-wad like they are claiming he is, then poor David doesnt have a shot in hell at turning out normal, well adjusted, not able to be run over with a steam shovel, unless he tells his dad to fuck off. I just don't see that happening with the face and demeanor that David has. It is a train wreck waiting to happen. I predict that the top two will be David Cook and Syeisha… thats all I am saying.
