Madonna's bid to officially adopt little David Banda just got a little easier.
David's biological father has spoken out in FAVOR of Madge's adoption.
He told news agency Reuters in a TV interview, "I have no problem with the government's recommendation to allow Madonna to get the child. This is what I wanted, that Madonna should keep the child."
He states that he would love to see little David while Madge is in the country this week to finalize the adoption. But, if not then, every few years so he could see the boy's development.
ALSO, one of Malawi's fiercest critics of Madonna's adoption bid, the Human Rights Consultative Committee (HRCC), said on Monday it was no longer interested in pursuing the case.
"It will be as a waste of time and resources to continue pursuing the case. Malawi has more pressing issues than Madonna," HRCC chairman Udule Mwakasungura told Reuters.
Madonna is scheduled to appear in a Malawian court on Thursday for what is expected to be a final and favorable ruling on whether she can adopt little David.

He's a very lucky little boy and they should recognize how much this opportunity means for him, instead of giving her a hard time they should focus on other children that NO ONE'S ADOPTING and be thankful one child is offered such a chance at a wonderful life.
In this case, she saved the child's life. If they're worried about future cases in Malawi, as they should be, they should do what Madonna has been advocating all along and put well defined policies in place for adoption. It is a little crazy to fly back and forth and "observe" her living conditions, when there are about a million starving children with no parents in Malawi getting no attention from the government or very little.

I admire madonna very much but this thing makes me sick. The boy HAS a father, she could help David's father instead of taking the child away. They could have a chance to be a family. She offered to support the father in the care of his son. He said no! Why, because he had moved to another village and was expecting a child with a women that he later married. So he gave his blessing to the adoption. The reason Malawi came to her attention was that aids had wiped a generation of parents leaving 1 million orphans. Children and granparents. Of course the adoption laws have to be changed so these kids can be rescued. I have no problem with her bringing attention to this plight(which is why she was enlisted in the first place) and providing food, medicine, shelter and education to the country while the government sorts out the adoption laws. She had already set programs in motion and spent money on Malawi long before it was leaked that she and her husband were interested in adopting a child. What is the problem!

Mr. Banda's request is reasonable, and I hope Madonna will honor it. He's not asking for too much. Of course he'll always love his son, and the boy was never an orphan. Mr. Banda was forced to make a difficult decision, and he chose the alternative that was most likely to keep his son alive. He already lost two sons to malaria.
Do the right thing, Madonna. Bring David home for visits over the years.
