      Did I ever tell you that I was once at The Grove to see Rent over Thanksgiving Weekend a few years ago? Standing in front of the movie theater, Anderson cooper was standing, waiting for someone. A few Asian girls started to gush over him, and he began to preen. He posed for pictures with them, a couple of people gawked, and then he was alone again. Instantly, a beautiful black gay man appeared. They greeted each other and walked away arm in arm. A few months later, I was interning at a local magazine and the food/travel editor (and upper echelon gay mafia member) told me that in the upper circles of gaydom it's well known that Anderson is gay and dating a black man. This was all a few years ago, and I don't know if they are together anymore. You never know, though. Anderson looks like the committed type. Grey haired bastard.

The private lives of journalists are irrelevant and honestly we should be more cognizant of the facts they bring to us each and every day, not irrelevant rumors and speculation. Please don't clump Anderson Cooper into the celebrity obsessed media, he actually stands for something much bigger than that. He deserves the luxury of keeping his personal life private since he's tirelessly bringing much needed attention to issues that the Bush administration would rather have Fox News skip over.
