The 70's classic Electric Company is coming back to PBS!

Y'all can look forward to hearing kids across the land screaming EC's famous opening, "Hey you guys!"

Production on the new Electric Company started this week, Tuesday.

The show’s new format will encompass interactive online elements and community-based activities across the country.

Music for the show's being looked after by Broadway babes, Chris Jackson, Thomas Kail and Bill Sherman (all from musical In the Heights, which was just nominated for a bunch of Tony awards).

We want Lambchop or Madam to come back next!!!!!!

I felt old when you posted about the Fraggle Rock thing. Now I feel even older. Hey - at least my 9-year old daughter can partake. Electric Company rocked. Remember the silent Spiderman? Creepy.

Oh, and once again, thanks for the classy #1 post. I'm curious what country these people are from. No one in America says things like, "It is said…" or "Maybe this news be useful." Well, I guess no one I know.

The rest is lalalalala. (haha) And remember ZOOM?

"Come on zoom, zoom, zoomah, zoom

Re: dillie – Good point- -everything is recycled into the nostalgia machine nowadays. haha! However, one good thing about the old stuff was the innovation in learning and a focus on diversity…something we could definitely stand to recycle.

ah..Lambchop, I remember those days where I didn't go to preschool so all I did all day was watch Barney and stuff like that(it's kinda like online collage except it is on TV and made for 3 year olds LOL).

    66. Cassandra says – reply to this

      66

Reading Rainbow is still on my PBS station every afternoon.

Lambchop with someone else would be like that new Kermit. It's just wrong. Yeah, Jim Henson and Shari Lewis would want their puppet friends to live in for new generations, but it's different and wrong and very, very disturbing to hear a different voice come out of Kermit's mouth.

And let's not forget Rita Moreno in her jungle outfit screaming the phrase "hey you guys" and Bill Crosby were also regular cast members.

I hope they all come back. It was my favorite show as a kid in the 70's!!! I wish it played in reruns.
