No Ozzfest This Year (Sorta)

The annual summer heavy-metal rock concert known as Ozzfest is changing things up this year!

It will no longer be touring the country and performing nonstop. Instead, they have settled on making Ozzfest a one-day mega event.

It will take place this year in Dallas at the Pizza Hut Park on Saturday, August 9th.

The headliners include Metallica, and - of course - Ozzy Osbourne.

Of the event, family matriarch and manager Sharon Osbourne says, "Ozzy just finished an 11-month world tour, so I think he deserves a summer off. We're going to be a stadium destination festival for now — we have gone past doing the sheds every summer. We've given everyone else the blueprint and we have to keep evolving Ozzfest."

Smart!

If all goes well, next year she can turn Ozzfest into a 3-day super mega festival!

Sharon adds, "This is just the beginning. Ozzy has great relationships with all of the bands that have played Ozzfest. We're the only real festival for harder-edge bands and these artists have been very loyal to us — there is lots of love on this lineup."

Ozzfest tickets go on sale Saturday, May 31.

      Ozzfest has become a joke! It's a shell of what it shoul've been! Gigantour and Sounds Of The Underground bury Ozzfest and that cunt wife of his when it come to credibility in the metal scene. Only real festival for harder edged bands Sharon? You really need to pull your head out of your ass for a few minutes! Fuck!! We just had the Power Fest up here in Chicago and that line-up buried the piss poor shit bands you've been booking! The last band worth a fuck to do Ozzfest that was worth a fuck was Iron Maiden and that whore treated them like shit!

      i saw ozzy recently, and it was terrible, a sad joke. The drooling Prince of Prozac just stands on stage and pisses his pants while he sings the wrong lyrics to songs he doesn't give a fuck about anymore. he hasn't made a good record since…the 80s?
      But Sharon, being a good pimp that she is knows she can make him go out and humiliate himself on stage because she always needs more plastic surgery or her ugly crackhead kids need another trip to rehab annually.

      well that fucking sucks. I think the only person I would have went to see would have been Metallica,but lucky for me they are playing in Tucson. I have seen Ozzfest evey year since it has come to Phoenix and they should have just gone on without Ozzy. Oh well at least the Mayhem tour will kick ass! Slipknot and Disturbed all the way!

      Ozzfest has sucked since 2005ish. Gigantour is where its at. Not to mention The Judas Priest/Motorhead/Testament tour is going to be gnarly! Too bad sounds of the Underground is no more cause THAT was a fun festival. The fact is Ozzfest is loosing cash and appeal. With so many other festivals comming around and great bands doing solo tours this summer more metal kids want to give there money elsewhere. Not to mention the band selection is recent ozzfest has been so shitty no wonder nobody goes. The only thing good about last years ozzfest was the fact that Nile played. Not to mention thanks to stupid numetal kids at the PNC show, alot of Amphitheaters are taking stricter percausions for metal acts. Fuck you Ozzfest and your stupid trashy gotho fans. Besides if you want a real metal festival go to Deathfest in Maryland or to one of Europes many festvials.
