I know most of the public thinks my brother is some rich little selfish kid, but NO ONE knows the real story and I'm really pissed that the truth didn't come out from either side. A LOT of lies were told in that trial. Believe me. And it wasn't from us. John was NEVER home. He was at our house. ALL THE TIME. that should say enough…. Im not going to be out spoken right now, but If some s*** doesn't start getting straightened out, A lot of people are going to eat their words for lieing. I know all of the truth and I have back up. I never know how twisted this world could be but I'm starting to figure it out. And I'm gonna have to jump off my high road and tackle some ppl who are taking the low road. I know you guys don't understand, but you will really really soon. Keep praying. And by the way, before you judge anybody, make sure you really know them. I promise you if you were to meet my brother he would give you the shirt off his back. He's not "NICK HOGAN." AND hes not the person he plays on tv. People are so gullible now a days…"

They are taking things out of context, putting words in her mouth, and comparing what she said to things that have no relevancy to the discussion.

1. Who's fault it was. She obviously knows it's Nick's fault, and is not denying it. NOR is she trying to blame anyone else.

2. She is not trying to make excuses for Nick's actions in ANY WAY.

3. She is NOT complaining about Nick's punishment. ANd she is NOT saying he didn't deserve it.

What she IS saying is

1. That the family of the kid that got hurt was lying about them and their son in court in order to make the incident out to be different than what it was. They acted as if the son was an innocent bystander in the whole event. This is simply not true.

Now for those that say this doesn't matter, well I am glad the court system doesn't use your version the law. It does matter. Because BOTH boys WERE AT FAULT. Had nothing happened to said passenger HE WOULD HAVE BEEN FAULTED as well.

The "victim" and his family are not innocent and although he got hurt had he not the "victim" would have been in serious trouble right along with Nick and people tend to forget that this was a 21-year-old letting a 17-year-old lead him around a member of our Armed Forces and yet he wasn't strong enough to tell Nick "no" or hell I don't know wear his seatbelt. While accepting that there are two sides to every story, and undoubtably both parties must accept some responsibility. I think, for me anyway, it's the apparent lack of compassion and sensitivity being displayed here. Kids are stupid at times. We've all been there, for most of us, we were lucky not to kill ourselves or someone else. I was lucky to have parents that reigned me in. Unfortunately for Nick, he didn't. This is a very sad situation all round, with one of the parties paying a very high price for a few minutes of fun. Brooke underestimated the role of public opinion during trial. She needs to realize however that Nick is personally responsible for the way the public viewed him in regards to the situation. Having read the comments being placed here. I can understand while people are disgusted with the Hogan family, infact the only member of the family who appears to be remorseful at all is Nick. I'm not condoning the actions of either. I can even understand Brooke's wanting to defend him, I'm quite sure he's not the monster that's being portrayed at the moment.
But whoever the Hogans PR people are, they need to do a lot of work to repair (IF they can) the Hogan image. A good starting point would be never allowing Brooke to write or speak her own thoughts. I fully understood what she was trying to say, and yes it wasn't written very well. But people need to understand that BOTH families are grieving. People don't always react or come across very well during this period of grief. People will bash me saying that John's family are paying the higher price, and he is. But if he really was like a second son to the Hogans their pain is no less real. The memories they have of John do not just disappear.
Nick will never forget what he did to John, nor will the public. It will haunt him for the rest of his life. This is a very sad tale of two families in tormoil.
On a lighter note though, the thought of Brooke tackling anyone is quite scary, I think she would do well in the WWE. She obviously got those shoulders, from eating babies for breakfast and punching seniors at Bingo in the afternoon….(true story)

Her brother is very fortunate to have gotten the short sentence that he did, considering the circumstances. His friend - not so much. It should be about making amends.
