The Mike Myers-fronted comedy flick Love Guru may be banned in India.
What'd he do????
Hindu groups in the country have reportedly requested that India's Central Board of Film Certification and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting ban screenings of the picture in India.
About 80% of India's population are Hindu.
In March, U.S.-based Universal Society of Hinduism president Rajan Zed was one of the first to protest the film when he said it "appears to be lampooning Hinduism."
However, an official with India's Central Board of Film Certification says they have yet to receive a formal ban request from any of the country's Hindu groups.

I'm Indian and I would have to say that India bans the most random things. They'll censor a scene if an actor is seen smoking a cigarette, but they don't do anything to this one movie that was all about marijuana. It's whack!!!!! Conservative groups in India will worked up for nothing!!! I'm not saying that the movie might not be offensive, but India is going overboard.

I am a hindu woman. I believe that India is one of the most beautiful countries in the world filled with great culture, food, and beauty. I don't really care about movies that poke fun at religion - there are tons of movies that make fun of other religions as well. It's going to happen! We better be used to it. As long as you are confident in your religion within yourself thats all that matters. However, it is very offensive for one to say that India should be characterized by peeing on the street and the showers. Obviously you haven't visited enough places in India. Yeah, unfortunately there aren't certain luxuries everywhere, but thats part of the charm. The Hindu religion has been around much longer than most religions and our culture is beautiful. Aishwarrya Rai has been named the most beautiful woman in the world by numerous sources and she truly is a beautiful Hindu woman. Maybe you should open yourself up more before you criticize. There are beautiful things about every religion and culture - and we should all appreciate and respect them. As for the person who complained of the smell of curry - you wish you could eat food that tastes that good on a daily basis. and lets be real guys - regardless of who pokes fun at what - mike myers totally sucks donkey balls. Not all Indians that eat curry smell. They forget to open a window or two while cooking thats all. Oh my god. I didn't know there were SO many racists on this site. By the way, India is NOT a middle eastern country and they don't have Jihad since they are Hindus. I'm not Indian I've been to India and although the bathroom issue — or lack theref of –is noticable (expecially if you travel everywhere by bus/train car like I did), if you go with an open mind you won't even notice it that much. I personally LOVED the food (mostly veg) the people were so nice and humble, and super smart.
