Simon Cowell recently revealed to Blender magazine that he thinks David Cook should walk away with this season's American Idol title.
And he may!
Idol's King of Mean tells the mag, "I think he's done more to deserve it over the eleven weeks. He's taken more risks, he's done things with certain songs that have been more interesting. If I'm gonna base it on who has done the best performances over the live shows, David Cook deserves to win."
Simon also voiced his displeasure with booted contestant Jason Castro.
Cowell said, "He just gave up - I get frustrated over that."
He also hints that he thinks youngin' David Archuletta has no personality.
Can't hate on Simon. He calls it as he sees it!

David Cook should 4 SURE win! He is awesome and super sexy! YUMMY… He is super talented and like Simon says, he is the only one who is willing to do anything "out of the norm". That being said, I think that Dave Archuleta is also very talented but he is WAY too shy for all the fame. He would do well for a while and then fade away like no one ever knew he was there. I think what has kept him in the top (other than him being a very good singer of course) is the fact that a million 17 & 18 yr old girls want to jump in his pants. Simon is only reason to watch that insipid show but he's totally out of touch. David Cook is the MOST unoriginal, contrived performer this season. Everything he is does is derivative of someone else. He's completely cheesy.

I think that it would be better for David Cook's career if he DID NOT win, because then he could have more freedom as an artist.
I also think that David Archuletta will win because he has so many teen/pre-teen fans who are crazy and will probably spend hours voting for him. It would probably be best for his career if HE won AI.

I totally agree with Simon! I love David Cook and think he will really make it in the real world. I think that little punk is boring. He gave the same performance over and over! If he wins then we know that it is a fixed show and I will never watch it again! I think someone needs to investigate his parents because he shows soo.. many signs of being abused! Poor kid!!!! David Cook is a rocker. It would serve his career better if he didn't win the AI title. What rock star wants to be labled as the "American idol"? Chris Daughtry didn't win, but he stil did fine. As for Simons' comments on Jason, I think they were kind of unfair. I thought the kid was good. He was just inexperienced. Just because his inexperience caught up with him does'nt mean he gave up. He'll get better with a few more gigs under his belt. Out of all the contestants on the show, Jason is the one I would most likely purchase an album from. I liked him. He had a vulnerable quality about his voice that I loved.

It's all rigged anyway - they want to produce the next Daughtry, since they saw how well he did after them - same kind of style. And Simon is the only judge worth listening to. The other judges are full of shit.
I don't think there was much personality in the top 5! Syesha has a little bit. You can't come down so hard on Archuleta; he's just a kid. But Cook has my vote. Yet this group doesn't enthuse me the way some have in the past.
Hes absolutely right. David Archuleta is too controlled by his father to be his own person, therefore he lacks in shining personality. It's a shame too./ But we all know that you do not have to come in first place to be successful!

I totally think he should win too. David A doesnt have any personality and he is still too young. U can tell by his manerisms. He just giggles and puts his head down and had bad body mechanics. David C seems older and more atune to what to do and how to interact with the public. Give David A some time. he is still young and needs to find his niche'. I just dont think this is his time.

I agree with Simon 100%, and I believe that Cook will win. Archuleta has a great voice, and will find his niche when he matures. Ballads seem to be his comfort zone, which I am not crazy about. Cook is far more creative, and interesting. Saesha (can't spell her name) is great too. Hope she finds a mentor and perhaps will end up in Broadway.

I also think that S'yesha has the best voice in the contest although she will not win. With a good song and good producers, she will do very well.
David Archuletta sounds like MUZAK in the elevators. His voice is okay, but he brings nothing to the songs. The teenage girls and old ladies love him just like the Claymates love Gaykin. Too bad they are both batting for the same team.

Archeleta is still just a kid, whose personality will take shape as he matures. Just because Simon perhaps has not taken the time or effort to get to know him doesn't mean David has no personality. He just may not feel comfortable sharing it with Simon, who can be quite imposing, or even scary to a younger person. Young people try to please, and that can veil a personality unlike an older and self-actualized person who has had the time to figure out who they are and who they aren't. David shouldn't take his comment to heart.

Simon Cowell is a very generous, filthy rich and talented man who dresses like a 12 year old and gets his hair cut with a lawn mower. But he knows the music industry. Too bad he didn't recognize that David Cook STOLE those arrangements and was SHAMED into admitting it on IDOL after the original artists complained. David Cook has no integrity- a useful quality in the music business.

Simon is contradicting himself a little. When most of the contestants take risks, the judges usually say that they shook stick to their genre. Like when David A. did the Chris Brown song, granted it was awkward , but he tried. David A., has a good voice, but he has two problems: He over enunciates the lyrics and that doesn't work in pop songs and his personality. Many people I know liked him in the beginning, but gradually got turned off because of his strangeness. If he had a better personality, he would have walked away with this.
Perez, why aren't you outing SC? I have it on good authority from a friend of mine who is personal friends with a very close colleague of Simon Cowell that he is gay. How come you missed this?
David C. should win, but I think they missed the boat on the most original contestant this season, and in the long run most marketable, Jason. David C. is a reincarnation of Daughtry, Archuleta of Clay Aiken. I don't think it's so much that Jason gave up on the show, but rather they decided to give up on him. Some of the criticism by the judges was very unwarranted. He was one of the only contestants out of the top 8 that never performed on tv or had a record. Isn't the show about molding raw talent? BTW, on what planet is Daughtry a rocker? I hear his songs constantly on Lite FM.

They let some talented people go and they've also favoured the competition in favour of Archuletta and Cook, even though Syesha sometimes sings better than them she gets ignored. Cook will probably win though I personally dont like his voice, David is boring but he can really really sing (ballads only).
jason has more personality than david cook and archuleta put together. this show is rigged and i've stopped watching it. AI can go down the toilet for all i care, and i hope it does! bunch of assholes produce and judge it.

I agree with Simon wholeheartedly. Cook should win. David A. is very talented, but he's very limited in his range and his personality. He needs to grow up a little, get away from his father, and strike out on his own in a few years. As for Jason, I really like him, but he didn't have the vocal chops of either Davids. But, I think Jason could really become a star in the future. I think American Idol shoots itself in the foot every season by limiting the song choices to a certain artist/genre. The contestants should be able to pick their own songs more during the competition so it wouldn't be so boring. Cracks me up when the contestants have to sing like a Dolly Parton song, and then get criticized for having to try and polish a turd.

I hate that everyone thinks that David Cook is so original and "takes risks". He doesn't. What does he sing week after week… rock songs. When I found out what he's singing it's no surprise to me. Everyone thinks that Archuleta is predictable but they all are. I can tell you what all of them will sing before they sing it.
As for as his risk taking, he doesn't do that either. He's found a nice little formula that he plugs all of his songs into and then the judges and his fans eat it up. All of his songs sound the same. They all start out kind of slow with just him singing and then everything gets really big and the band comes in and the lights flash and he hits some big note at the end. Every single time.
David A. really is too young but I think that's why he should win. He needs AI's guidance until he figures out who he is as an artist.
