I am in the middle of a lawsuit against a former employer and Lamda Legal helped me find a great lawyer. Without there help, My homophobic, Bible thumping ex-employer would have gotten away with months of ongoing harassment aimed at me and my sexuality me, and who knows what else in the future. Thanks Perez for posting such an important message.

Shouldn't we all be equal? Gays get a bad rap. Their feelings and rights are as important as everyone else's.

I love the gays. I really do. But…
Should we be supporting the hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of people who are suffering in CHINA and BURMA right now?
    Just a thought.

Ah James, your post saddens me. First thing I want to point out is. Tolerance isn't accepting someone's lifestyle or beliefs. Tolerance is how you treat the very people you disagree with. That is why say, regardless of someone's view against homosexual sex, they should treat homosexuals the same. THAT is being tolerant. Just like if say, you are a homosexual and you know say a Christian that believes homosexual sex is a sin. Him simply believing that doesn't make him a homophobic loser. Believing that would make YOU a bigot and make YOU the intolerant one.

For example, I would say I was a Christian. I am not a big fan of organized religion, but I am a Christian non-the-less. Regardless of my views of homosexuals sex, I would NEVER in the life of me attempt to treat anyone differently. We are all on the same boat. No one is better than another.

There is a lot of resentment on BOTH sides because of the way BOTH sides act. And that has to stop.

But by belittling someone because they are religious or Christian, is just as bad as them belittling you because you are gay. You are just being the man you hate.

Gays d not rule !!! They are just trying to take over and rule !!!! It's nasty and morally WRONG!!!!!!!!

  15. Kevin says – reply to this

BTW I believe in giving homosexual couples the SAME rights. I am ALL FOR THAT brothaa. And I think the Government should totally stop recognizing marriages as legal gov documents. But instead have it's own legal binding laws. That way religious people can KEEP their marriage, and everyone would be treated EQUALLY in the eyes of the government.

The religious can still get married, but in order for the gov to see it as legit, they would also have to go through that process as well.

The ONLY people I have ran into that had problems with this were people with agendas that was more than just about getting equal treatment. But about forcing values on society. Which is sad.

AND YOUR A RACIST just like alot of your Cuban compatriots!!!!!! Being hispanic is an ethnicity not a race and if it wasnt for the AFRO-CUbans we Hispanics would have never had SALSA, MERENGUE, and our food we love so much. TAKE your blinders off and use your pathetic to shed a light on the truth instead wasting it on charities that you don't even care about/. YOure just doing it to act as if you have a heart. Re: cas123

"stupid cause. seriously." Especially when there are worse problems out there.

But people tend to only care about what effects THEM directly.

  21. Oh Pulleezze says – reply to this

There are A LOT of bigger fish to fry. This cause is yet another special interest for gay pride. Can we all just keep sex discreet, no matter what our preference? Now there is a just cause!

The only worthwhile causes are those that help ALL of mankind.

  22. Sarah says – reply to this

I don't understand why people that "hate Perez" read his website so much. Go find something better to do than post shitty comments on a website that you despise. Also, this is a good cause, and if you think there are more pressing issues that you would like to help with….go do that. If we all thought like some of you do we'd need our own charity.

  23. James says – reply to this

Re: Kevin – Well They can have their beliefs I am not anti christian. I don't agree with using the Bible as a weapon. Besides there is a time and place for everything and the workplace is not it. It is illegal especially when it is the owner shouting out comments about you and AIDS in front of customers, insinuating just because I am gay means I have AIDS among other worse things. So I am talking about a specific situation not all christians. But I agree with most of what you said.

Perez, why don't YOU donate to these causes? Until I see proof that you're using the money you make on being an asshole to donate to these charities, we aren't donating, especially since we're fucking broke and you're getting rich off hideous clothing lines and being a general dick and ruining journalism and having a negative affect on the media. Stop telling us what to donate to, we will donate to the charities we like. I do. You may have ruined the media, but you don't have enough influence to make us open our wallets and donate, sadly. So fuck off. And like I said, let's see some proof that you're donating YOUR money…

  30. believer says – reply to this

Don't agree with this. I believe what the Bible says. I am sorry to hear of the suffering involved though. Sometimes we do bring things on ourselves. I include myself in that group. I don't always follow God's will. These are my personal beliefs and I don't hate anyone for not believing what I do. I just put God's word above man's. Laws even punish heterosexual married couples. I found that out when I married 3 years ago. I am disabled and since I have married my benefits are taxed to the extreme which I don't feel is fare. There is nothing to be done about it though. The laws aren't being changed for people like me.

  33. Lawyers are thieves says – reply to this

You are treated equally under the law. You just can't afford a blood sucking, 200 an hour lawyer. REGULATE THE LAWYERS- the law is just fine. FORCE the lawyers to lower fees and get real legal insurance.

  34. No Discrimination! says – reply to this

Women still earn less for the same positions. See Wikipedia, LillyLedbetter, a heartrending case. It's important to strive for anti-discrimination ideals, but for all. Women compromise 50% of the population. Statistically only 2% of men in the U.S. currently identify themselves as gay, give or take. If you are going to fight and legislate anti-discrimination, it should benefit all forms of it. You CAN teach old dogs new tricks. Many more progressive countries have anti-discrimination legislation, and it works statistically.

  35. socalguy says – reply to this

What the fuck are you talking about? Society literally bends over to accomodate gays in schools, employment, acting, you name it. What you mean to say is you want more PRIVELEGES than anyone else. Packing fudge doesn't make you better than anyone else.

  36. Plato, Michelangelo, DaVinci, Tchaikovsky, Wittgenstein, and Proust says – reply to this

Re: socalguyRe: sta – Number 37…Um…actually it does—many of the greatest thinkers, authors, artists, athletes, and musicians of history were superior beings and also gay.
And number 33, the Adam & Eve/Steve thing is old and tired and corny. Very old and tired and cliche. Adam & Eve are two characters in a mythical metaphor of the beginning of the world.

This "cause" couldn't be less important. Gays should have no rights whatsoever.

  46. scott says – reply to this

Yawn. Who cares?? I am tired of "the gays" running their agenda down our throats all the time. If you do not agree with them, as is your God given right, YOU are labeled (RACIST, HOMOPHOBE, ANTI-SOMETHING). Considering this is a group that always preaches "acceptance" all the time, they sure can throw out some labels themselves. "Bible thumping"??? I guess if his boss called him a fag, he would have had a problem, but he can label his boss that way, all because it is HIS beliefs. I do NOT have to accept your "life style" because that is MY choice. YOU don't have to like my opinion because that is YOUR choice. You can not force acceptance. It has been tried and it has failed. I don't need to know you are gay any more than you need to know I am not. It does not make you right and me wrong.

  48. NoPedophiles says – reply to this

LAMBDA should not be leading the Gay Rights Movement. They are a bunch of pedophiles that will only demoralize the gay community and continue the belief that gays are all pedophiles. To be taken seriously gays MUST seperate permanently from this horrible group that preys on children that are NOT mature enough to make the kind of "choices" LAMBDA would like. CHILDREN should not be sold out for your political, social, moral gains. This is the first time I've been sickened by one of your posts, Perez.

look, at the first place, the gays are just jealous of us straights that we have all the right but they don't see that this is how the world runs, a male and a female get together to reproduce, it's not that we have the right to get married and you don't, straights can choose not to get married and still be able to reproduce. even if gays don't get married they will still screw each other and show their feelings towards each other in public. the only difference is that straights can reproduce and gays can't and you guys blame the law for that? why don't you blame that you ain't born with a womb. and the reason why straights discriminate gays are because you ain't normal. to gays, being gay is normal to you but to us straights, it ain't normal. the very first reason why there is mating is because to reporduce, now gays are screwing up the ecosystem.
