That sound cool, but as we all know sometimes technology isn't so great. It is more trouble than doing things the old way.

Or you can save yourself $500 and wait a year or two until you can start downloading HD video to your TV.

can anyone just sit and watch a friggin' movie anymore! jesus christ…no one has any type of attention span these days

call me antiquated, but I cant for the life of me imagine someone being interested in doing all of that crap. Who wants to customize their own movie? You watch a movie to sit back and be entertained. Another thing, you think grandparents are going to learn how to do this technology? Not mine. This is DEFINITELY NOT going to send people in droves to the Best Buy to buy this Blue Ray Disc player.

And Perez Hilton sells out….. very sad very sad

    24. Cecelia says – reply to this

      24

Also, I think that it's quite the insult to your readers and fans to think that they would be sold something through such a thin marketing veil as this one…. I thought you prized truth, Perez, but it turns out you're a sell out. Turn back before you're too far down that road!!!

    25. Cerag says – reply to this

      25

      You were paid for this.

      You don't have any credibility.

    26. Laura says – reply to this

      26

Cool and all, but whatever happened to just watching a movie? All this other crap just sounds like more trouble than it's worth.

      27

Aside from the obvious commercial, "…recent study that shows 40% of consumers who are likely Blu-ray buyers want interactive capabilities like BD Live." They're spending all this money on 40%??

    28. Fo Realz says – reply to this

      28

That shit is not cool, it's LAME!! Are people that starved for entertainment that they're willing to piss around with petty, annoying shit like screen savers and chats with other people while they're trying to watch a movie? Puhleaze. No way.

      30

I'm sorry but I'm sticking to plain 'ol DVD. I'm not going to spend 30 bucks on a movie…no matter what it does or how it looks.

      31

bit of advise, pick up a ps3 for this as it will always be updatable to the new things bluray will be able to do, and it is one of the cheapest bd players out there right now. plus it has a bunch of other functions like web browsing and games.

      32

      Re: DigitalMertz
too bad it isnt going to be even close to the quality of blu-ray. this wont be winning any format war for another 10 years, tool.

    33. jp says – reply to this

      33

i wouldnt use this crap either as some of you said but if you have an HDTV there is nothing you can watch right now that would look as good as a bluray movie. it looks way better than HD channels from satellite or cable. just as dvd's took out vhs, this will take out dvd's. they are just letting you know the cool extra's you can do with the new technology. it isnt any harder to just watch the damn movie than it is with a dvd, if you'd like you can pop em in and hit play.

    34. shannon says – reply to this

      34

uh, i've had blu-ray for like a year now and i assumed other people did too… get with the program people! if you have an HD tv, regular dvds look like crap!

    35. natalie says – reply to this

      35

wow perez… how much money did sony pay you to hawk blu-ray for them?
      sellout.

    36. Flora says – reply to this

      36

So, maybe because my bf is a total video game junky and whatnot, but I'm actually excited about this. He bought the 360 with HD thinking it would beat on Blu-ray, I got the PS3 with Blu-ray haha for him lol

    37. Weez43 says – reply to this

      37

None of this will happen. That is what they said about DVD's when they first came out… that you would be able to slect the rating version of a film pg13 V R and that never happened either…it all sounds good but not count on any of these features showing up on a BRD

    38. deno says – reply to this

      38

of course he sold out. you dumbasses would have sold out too! it's a good business decision. haz lo que quieres hacer Perez!

    39. Sky says – reply to this

      39

I'm in it for the hi-def resolution, but I'm also totally game for technological advancements! What I don't find useful today, could benefit me in the future :) Love my PS3 with blu-ray… best deal goin today!!

    40. hansdotcom says – reply to this

      40

you're losing us with sell-out crap like this….
little by little, becoming less and less relevant and fun…
i wonder who the new perez will be!?!?

    41. GRegg says – reply to this

Who cares? What a laime ass function. Call me when the blue-ray player changes peoples perceptions and gives humanity a lesson in evolution. Until then, technology is being wasted, except for communication. For that I say bravo. But really, like I wanna play fuckin trivia while Im watching a disney movie. Exactly what our world needs more distractions. ADD is running rampant. Too many choices.

    42. jo says – reply to this

      42

That is totally useless. It will not be pop.

But anyway, enjoy yours. Althougt you will not be pop much longer either, spilling this.
