Parents- Help your kids so the rest of the world doesn't have to. Take responsibility for the future before having children. Ask yorself, Can I afford to give my child the basic neccessities:Food, Water,Clothing,Shelter,An Education. Then go bang ur brains out having sex with some guy u only met last night at the bar. But please don't expect the world to have to pull your weight. Get sterilized if you must bang ur brains out, Just please, please Don't make Babies You Can't love or Care for and expect me to pay for them!!!! Now i have to go to my job where i earn money to feed my family. BYE!!!!:}

I told him he should. I'm tired of seeing all of these kids roaming, floating, uneducated, it's not my fault. Then I laugh at these women when they have 4 kids by 3 different men and want the 4th man to "marry" them. (so pathetic), and then they don't believe in abortion, but they believe it's better to bring someone into the world to suffer for their whole 7 seconds of pleasure (so selfish). Women use kids as pawns and i am a woman! i dont get how we can procreate without passing some kind of test, whether it be intelligence, fiscal capabilities, parental support, mental fitness etc. If u adopt a child u have to pass a rigorous set of criteria. but any 5 dollar ho can make a baby every nine or so months, collect welfare and let the kids roam the streets and I'm being asked to help them? I agree with you about people needing to be responsible about having children, but unfortunately that's not going to happen for a long time unless the country changes their sex ed programs in all schools. People will continue to have promiscuous unprotected sex until everyone is better informed. Children are a wonderful gift that need all the attention and love that you can give them. However, because there are already children out there that are born into the world with young and/or irresponsible parents, there is a wonderful program like Jumpstart that helps to end the cycle of uneducated young men and women everywhere. Jumpstart gives young boys and girls that start that they desperately need while providing them with stability in their life for a year with the dedicated corps members who love these children dearly. Instead of complaining about the problem, it does more to lend a hand to try to end the cycle than just sit there and complain about it. Get out in your community and reach out your arms to those beautiful children who just want love and attention from someone. Maybe you could make enough of a difference in their life so that they don't continue the cycle.
And why the hell is anyone bringing celebrities into this? This has NOTHING and I repeat NOTHING to do with celebrities. Yes Perez Hilton is the queen, king, whatever of gossip, but a slight nod to a charitable foundation should not be looked over for who has this outfit, who went to rehab this week. You people are what the hell is wrong with America these days. Rather than care about the future of the children of this country you care more about celebrities who don't care that you even exist!!!
My daughter is in Jumpstart, it is not necessarily for unfortunate children. They randomly select kids who will get more one on one attention to better help them prepare for school. She is in pre-school and they help her once a week to develop her learning.

Your fuckin stupid, its not about parents not being able to help their kids. It is about using all the resources available to help children, to better the possibilitys for them having a better future. They are the future and the more they enjoy learning the better chance they will get a thorough education and not need support later on. It is to help develop skills and give support.
Woo Hoo!!!! I worked for Jumpstart all throughout college!!!! Such a great way to help out the state of education in our country and give the pre-school kidd-o's one on one attention. Teacher to student ratios are RIDIC in pre-schools, when children's minds are sponges and can absorb so many life lessons. IF YOU GOT THE DOUGH, IT WILL BE WELL SPENT AT JUMPSTART!

For all those saying you shouldn't have to support the children of "stupid women" who get themselves pregnant…stop and think about what you are saying. If we abandon these children and do not help them, the cycle of poverty will continue and it is a hard cycle to break. Early Childhood Intervention programs like Jumpstart give children the foundational skills neccessary to be successful in school, making them more likely to graduate from high school and obtain jobs, stay out of jail, and not have a teenage pregnancy, thus saving our economy millions on jail and welfare costs. Programs like this look far into the future. If you would take a moment to stop staring down your noses from your self-righteous pedestal, you may be able to see that. Discriminating against those in need–especially helpless children who do not choose their place in this world but rather are born into it –accomplishes NOTHING. Get a clue.
I worked for Jumpstart and it was such an unforgettable experience!! College Students: PLEASE SIGN UP TO HELP A CHILD!!!!! We can all make a difference in a child's life. They need it more than we imagine.
PEREZ! you totally rock for putting JUMPSTART on your site. I've worked with them for two years now and it is such a great organization. It's amazing to see what can happen over a course of a years time and just how much impact you can have on one person's life. Thank you so so so so SO much.

Jumpstart is one of, if not the best job I've ever had, and I love those kids to bits. I agree that these children are not the progeny of so called "irresponsible women," the parents we meet at jumpstart are just as dedicated and involved as the parents of you on your high horse, if not more so. Parents who get involved in jumpstart are trying to improve the lives of their children, how is that an irresponsible decision. It's inconceivable to me that people could insult these wonderful families and communities who are working to create change and secure the futures of their children. I will continue to work for jumpstart and donate both my time and love.

AWWW PEREZ! I KNOW HIM!!! That's my Jumpstart!!! I just saw this picture and I almost cried! The little boy in the picture is one of the best kids. I didn't work with him this year in Jumpstart specifically but he was still so fun in class! Thank you so much for featuring Jumpstart!
PEREZ THAT'S MY JUMPSTART!! This picture is from last year's sessions, and while I didn't have that child as my partner, he was still awesome. He is bright, creative, and his parents love him! It makes me so excited to see him! GO PEREZ!
