You know it says that Christ is the only way. You don't need to list all of the things that make you a "good" person. It's great that you do those things and that at your core you are good. You are not saved though, are you? Aren't we talking about salvation through Christ and going to Heaven or Hell and whether or not death is the end and whether or not we will be judged for our sins? You know believer, that I am unlike you, not afraid for the wrath the lord will bring upon me. Because if your Lord is so almighty, so allknowing, so righteous, he/she will know the difference between me and you. I, a non-Christian, straight woman who beliefs in full equality for ALL, not just for Christians, believes that God is pretty much satisfied with me. Because as long as those around me do not hate, but love, I will back them up (sure within the bounds of law, that is more you can say for a lot of Christian clergy
). Gays in general do not hurt a soul, married gay people do not hurt a soul either. It's those who hate and are arrogant that are guilty of the biggest sin. They feel above others, take the place of God in judging. I am already feeling so sad for you, because the day will come that you will have to hold yourself responsible to God and if God is that Almighty how much joy will he/she receive from those people who without his rules/guideline, who without judging did the right thing, that is loving those around them. Second, doesn't the Bible also happen to say the following: Matt 16:27: "For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works"; John 5:29: "And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation"; 1 Peter 1:17: "the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one's work"; James 2:21-25: "was not Abraham our father justified by works? The flat out ignorance some of the posters on here is honestly appauling. It's hard for me to sit back and think that people cannot mentally wrap their brains around something outside of what they live their lives by or what they were raised with. It is IMPOSSIBLE to follow the Bible in its entirely, so that really leaves it up for interpretation to what is and is not true (just look at how many different sects of Christianity there are). No, I don't believe that an invisible being sent Jesus to save the flawed humanity that he himself created. I don't believe the Bible is all true, given the hundreds of contradictions, that is impossible. HOWEVER, I believe the Bible contains elements of truth (cities, etc). No, I don't believe in eternal life. You may think the Bible was inspired by god, but that does not change the fact that it was still written by men, with all of their differing baises, perspectives, mental filters, objectives, and levels of comprehension and intelligence. To think that the entire book is inerrant truth reflecting reality is presposterous. Thankfully, we live in a mostly free country so you are welcome to live your life according to the mores of an archaic society, and judge-or say that 'you'll be judged'-to the 4.5 billion of us (more, if you count the millions of Christians who don't follow their own edict) who do not think the same.

I think that Believer's purpose for being here, on this site, is founded in the love that Christ wants Christians to show to one another and to those who have rejected God. Believer is trying to spread the truth, as he/she perceives it be based on the Bible, because he/she honestly feels that souls are on the line here. It isn't base on hate or judgement that Believer speaks out. It is about honest concern and love for others. Believe it or not, we Christians feel that way about others. We are passionate about our Savior and want to share that with others. This person has been raked across the coals (not nescessarily by you) and they have endured it as best they can. We think it's doing good, showing love, it's as simple as that.

How do you explain the verses saying that good works alone or good works + faith together determine our status after death? Are they there for filler? decoration? decoy? There is a very interesting book entitled…."A Case for Christ" that is well wort reading. The author set out to prove that there was no bases in a belief in Christ and when he had finished researching his book, he changed his mind.
