A guy described as one of Tony Romo's best buddies from his Eastern Illinois college revealed to the Chicago Sun-Times that Romo quit Jessica Simpson for two reasons — one, the intense media scrutiny that comes from being in Simpson's life and number two, the problems he has with her overbearing father, Joe Simpson.
Duh, Tony! Everyone knows that if you date Jessica, media will be up your ass at every turn!
But, we do feel for him and that Poppa Joe thing.
Joe Simpson has been ”not only telling Jessica every move to make, but now has begun to offer unsolicited advice to Tony on his career, endorsement opportunities and things that have nothing to do with him dating Jessica.”
Poor Pete Wentz…wonder how he deals.
Anyone who dates Jessica in the future should have a nice long talk with Nick Lachey first!

I have to say, going to the wedding as Jessica's date really speaks of Tony's character, he is a true southern gentleman underneath the rough "football dude" exterior. It takes a real man to step up and honor a commitment to a person you've broken up with. It shows real sensitivity, something so many guys are incapable of nowadays. It also goes to show that he really does care about her. It's sad that (if this is true that they broke up) they couldn't make it work. They are a really cute couple, that appeared genuinely happy for a while.
Sad that the media had such an effect. But the media frenzy is probably controlled by her father tipping off the media as to her whereabouts. Her father was an obvious obstacle from the beginning. He probably only wants his girls to be with men that he can control (as he does his daughters), hence the pressure on Tony.

Remember a few months ago, Jess was threatening to sue some mag(maybe OK) over a story on how Tony dumped her? Well it's interesting we have not heard her making the same noise over US Weeklys new issue with Jess on the cover, and her drunken nite, etc…. I think it really is over, and because Ashlee is getting married this weekend, Jess is trying to keep quiet and not upstage Ashlees big day with her breakup. I will be curious to see if Tony shows up with her at the wedding. As far as I'm concerned, if all was well, Tony would make a public announcement that they were still together. He has not which leads me to believe he's done. Plus this new article in Chicago paper has me convinced they are over. Thank God Tony came to his senses.

Really? What, is she 12? Come on the girl's almost 28 years old. She's an ADULT. What she needs to do is distance herself from her family for a while. As in, do her own thing with her chosen handlers; and not speak to her father about anything related to her work or love life.
