In a way, it's not the "END OF THE WORLD!", more so a "new beginning", that is, if it is actually as serious as people make it out to be. I think a big natural disaster will happen in 2012, kind of like what happened to the dinosaurs (or whatever it was that froze, lol), BUT I don't think everything will die out, as we have revolutionized into smarter beings with better understandings, than the dinosaurs, obviously. Anyways, don't worry about it, there really is nothing you can do, and when you die you either just die, or you're happy in heaven, so it doesn't matter.

One other thing — I know a story about the Tree of Life — this story was recently told to my brother. Someone he met recently told him that he saw the Tree of Life, about 3-4 years ago when he was in the middle east, I believe he was in the military. Anyway, a translator told him he knew the location of the Tree, and led him and another person to it. The Tree of Life was a fig tree and it was out in the middle of the desert all by itself. The Tree was in full bloom and the translator told him that the tree had not bloomed in 2,000 years. He said this was a sign of the end times.

I'm almost sure he bases this evidence on absolutely nothing. Aside from the "Pluto" thing (which STILL exists, dumbass wayne — it just isn't labeled), all of these events have sprouted from the U.S. The U.S. isn't the center of the fucking universe. There are various types of calendars and there were MANY events in which EVERYONE thought the world was going to end. His statement angers me because (aside from him being HIGHLY inarticulate), he doesn't seem to realize that there have been plagues, and other natural disasters that have been present throughout time. Just because the Mayan calendar was, for the most part, accurate, it doesn't mean it's the end of the world, numb nuts!

What I find even more ridiculous is that it appears that his only reference IS an encyclopedia. There are many other rich sources of information that disprove this "end of the world" crap in books DEVOTED to Mayan Civilizations and well, I dunno…the internet.
This has to be the most close-minded statement that I have ever read. So…a black man and woman are running for president. .. . great! How is that great enough of an omen to PROVE that the world is ending….especially in country such as ours. We're GREAT, but there are other countries too!
