Sucks to be sick!

Joaquin Phoenix missed the Cannes Film Festival premiere of his movie, Two Lovers, because of a nasty stomach flu, according to his rep.

The actor was all set to go to France, but he was so beat-down by a stomach flu that he had to go to a hospital to rehydrate.

Hope he's feeling better!

Gwyneth is probably happy she didn't have to share the spotlight!

      I hate when people use the term "stomach flu". "Flu" is short for "influenza", which is an upper respiratory infection. Unless you've swallowed your lungs, there's no such thing as a "stomach flu".

      No such thing as a "stomach flu". The flu is a virus that attacks the LUNGS. Causes burning sensation, trouble breathing etc.

      "Stomach Flu" is a stoopid catch all phrase for every bug/virus/food poisoning when someone barfs and doesn't feel well.

That is what matters…Also why can't he be sick….haven't you just been sick…Just because he's brother had a problem doesn't mean that he does. he went to rehab during the filming of "Walk the Line" because he wanted to stop something that was becoming a problem.       In addition; maybe he appears to look "wierd" to some of you because he has very light (damned yellow) green eyes and dark hair-naturally, which isn't that common. Maybe it's from his ethnicity (Hungarian and Brittish). Mine's the same but opposite from his parents so my eyes and hair are much like his - and no; I've been told I'm not bad on the eyes (I raced sportbikes for years and had some press from that; probably just because I'm female, but I can ride the hell out of a bike.)

      Joaquin's also funny as hell and has been since he was younger, when we had mutual friends. He was the type of person which people gravitated to because of his honesty and humor… he seems just like he was many years ago. (Real; unlike some people in his line of work.) So what if that's not "normal" in that business… must people incessantly bash him because he's not "just like them"?

      I was around him a few times (as a teenager) about 20 years ago and didn't know anything at all about their family's industry success, nor did I care. However I can attest to the fact that he's always been humorously honest and just a wonderful person you can actually have many great conversations to even then. From what I've seen now (not a whole lot) he's the same wonderful guy that I'd rather have talked to in a club filled with hundreds of other pretty, but "non-real" people.
