A sad update to a sad story.
According to new reports, British kid's TV host Mark Speight used his own shoelaces (after an attempt to use a belt failed) to hang himself in a London tube station last month, it was revealed on Tuesday.
Speight couldn't bear to go on living without his girlfriend, who had died weeks earlier from a cocaine overdose at the apartment they shared.
Mark apparently sought counseling just before his suicide, but due to a scheduling mix-up never saw the counselor.
Suicide is never the answer, y'all.
Please, please seek help from family, friends or any of the countless help organizations out there if this thought has even crossed your mind.

Famous people aren't exactly known for having the highest self-esteem, and you rake them through the mud every. single. day. So please spare us a post feigning concern about depression and suicide, no one is buying it from you. You probably won't stop until a young female starlet you've thrown up on your site in a photo showing a little cellulite or body hair up and kills herself over it. Even then, though? You'll likely just sell your side of the story to whoever pays you the most. It's just sad, and you will eventually realize this someday. Kanye West says he has no time for haters, so why the hell he lists your site as one of his favorites is beyond me for now. Perhaps I'll send him a note to ask.
That's a tough one to explain to the kids who were fans of his TV show…
He must have been so distraught that he wasn't thinking clearly enough to wait for the help or to seek help from a different source.

This is so sad. I've known many people that have committed suicide and it's a horrible feeling to know that someone you care for chose to take their own life. My condolences to his friends and family. I feel better just knowing that Jennifer Hewitt has awesome tits.

It's sad he felt that he had to end it this way. I do not know who he is but I have known a few wonderful people who have committed suicide. It's hard for me to understand why they did at times, it is a very selfish act. Then again, they must have been going through something hellish in their minds to come to that point. Suicide is never the right answer, but do not judge him too harshly

The only people suicide hurts are those left behind. I say survival of the fittest. If people want to kill themselves, let them. Depression and anxiety suck beyond belief. While I personally would never commit suicide, and while I think it's sad it has to come to that for some, I say let them go if that's what they want. Life can be hell for many people.
Too sad. However, it takes the right (or wrong, however you believe) combination of genes to take one's own life. It's instinct to save ourselves, so do the math.

Okay.. enough of this 'suicide is never the answer' crap. Some people were never meant to be on this earth for long. They were meant to affect us, challenge us, love us and move on. Sometimes, as hard as it may be, suicide is the answer for some. We must learn to accept that some people were meant to place their mark on our lives for whatever reason (negative or ortherwise) and exit. It has nothing to do with how much we love them, but more to do with what their tragic existence can teach us from their choices. It's awful, it's tragic and heartbreakingly sad, but it's reality.

Yes it's not the answer. My own father committed suicide 12 years ago and it still hurts. It breaks my heart when i hear that somene has ended there life without any help or anything.

its not often i comment on posts but hearing about the death of mark really saddened me. I remember him being on tv for years and as an innie kid after moving from a different country his show (smART) really helped my english along and my art! i am now an illustrator about to study for a BA and i all put it down to learning how to draw stuff like shadows, smoke and ghosts from this guy, hell he even taught me the wonders of location drawing. Rest in peace mark.

Re: #17 All Death is Suicide. Thank you for your words. My son hanged himself nearly four years ago, he was bipolar and his meds weren't correct ’cause he was only 13 years old. The mean spirited words here are really hurtful to survivors. I do believe we all choose our own death, but that doesn't mean we don't have a responsibility to be kind and empathetic and compassionate. We're all here getting a little comic relief from the antics of the rich and famous, but please remember that people who live beyond the suicidal deaths of the loved ones are the real sufferers in this world.

How can you guys be so insensitive? To all of you who have lost a "loved one" to suicide or feel like the survivors of suicide victims are the ones really suffering: YOU are the selfish ones. Don't you think that if they felt like they were your 'loved one' they wouldn't have done it? They obviously felt no love from anyone around them - especially their family. people who are that depressed usually withdraw from friends & family, causing those people closest to them to be mean or say mean things because they don't see the symptoms and think they are just having mood swings. Mood swings and sudden anger are symptoms of someone who is suicidal! Instead of criticising them or cursing their change of behaviour, why didn't you say something nice? Or hug them? Or give them one compliment? Because you didn't care to notice their symptoms. Leaving them to feel unloved and invisible and utterly lonely. THAT is true suffering - to realize that you are completely alone and there is no one to help you. In which case, suicide IS the only answer. I firmly believe that people who kill themselves can seek peace in God's arms - the only being that loves everyone unconditionally. It is disgusting that you call these people "loved ones" because you obviously did not care to show it - if you don't tell someone you love them or show it - how are they supposed to know?
