Piano-playing musicians usually have a hard time of "cracking" the mainstream, but they are some of our favorites.

Brendan James is a singer/songwriter, and his music definitely falls under that genre.

His songs and voice remind us of the little known (but loved by us) Casey Stratton.

Green is one of our favorite songs of Brendan's. And, no, it's not a song of money.

It's a pretty pretty mid-tempo number about love.

We love pretty songs. We love pretty voices. We love pianos.

If you like that too, then you will love this song and you will love Brendan James.

Charming!

Former World Chess Champion Garry Kasparov was giving a speech last weekend in Moscow when things went terribly wrong! Kasparov, a Kremlin critic, was at a meeting of opposition activists when a radio-controlled FLYING PENIS took over. Brendan James came to UNC (where he graduated from) and performed this spring and I was there…. he was amaaaaaazing! He said the song "Green" was about a girl he used to work with at Urban Outfitters… I thought that was cute. Thanks for featuring him!!

I am from Chapel Hill NC and Brendan plays in Chapel Hill a lot. I've seen him a few times and he is great live as well as down to earth. I think he has some stuff on Itunes and should have a record out soon if I remember correctly.
