      I absolutely LOVED Fantasia's performance. It was funky and original. I usually fast forward through the Idol songs because they are boring. This was amazing. I never saw her appeal until this performance. She is great.

      He was on the tonight show last night too, talking about Fantasia. He said that is was like a first round performance.       ok, so maybe her performance last week was a little sub par, but she was given GREAT performances on the show in previous seasons. just go to you tube and check out when she sang i'm here from the color purple. i wish simon would have given her more props than he did, but he never liked fantasia, or any of the "big three" from that season of idol.

      He's actually 100% accurate. Fantasia is insanely talented and spends far too much energy trying to 'keep it real' which is a lack of maturity and a reflection of the influences around her. It is sad. Many artists would kill for what she is capable of doing and she seems almost ashamed of her own potential. Far sadder is that when she does finally wake up and realize that she is so much more than what she's showing right now, it will be too late and her reputation will proceed her.

      I love fantasia and bought her first CD. She is doing well in the black community and has the respect of the black community. I enjoyed her performance. She appealed to the base she needed to appeal to, the rest of america wasn't going to like her regardless of what she does.

      Fantasia's song was inappropriate…I think that bit set the tone for the whole performance. I think it would have been hot if she'd done some sort of tribute performance to Aretha. She could have had the same funky swagger and upbeat performance but also APPROPRIATE lyrics. I like Fantasia, though and I think she suffers from a lack of "American beauty." I think people would like her to be subdued and sort of croon so that we can listen with our ears and not eyes…they don't want her to be self-confident and assertive…it offends our pathetic sensibilities. So, I saw nothing wrong with her hair or dress…if it were Carrie in a playsuit with bleach blonde hair doing that awful "Last Name" song, nobody would have uttered "white trash" (the white equivalent to "ghetto"). So, I like Fantasia. Sure, I'd like to see her with better music but I'd never ridicule her as Simon is. Whatever to him and his show which is sinking and will be the lamest thing going by next season. Dancing with the Hasbeens and Neverwasses is set to eclipse it in the ratings, anyway.
