   im so happy, and a little shocked! David Cook definitely deserved to win. He'd sell way more than Archuletta anyways. Archuletta songs ALL sound the same, while Cook knew how to switch it up and keep us interested. Archuletta= boring.

   I'm a cougar, and cougars are the ones who VOTED David Cook to win! He appeals to everyone. He's GREAT. It's so good to see that the mistake America made when Chris Daughtry was voted off was not repeated again. There is no way that Archuleta would have made a popular album—unless it was Josh Groban-like. Cook will be very successful. He appeals to the 18-34 set, as well as the older folks like me! I'm so glad David Cook could do this for his brother, who is dying of cancer. It's a true American dream story!

    How can you honestly sit there and say he didn't deserve it?
    Did you even watch the show?
    He worked his ass off (like everyone else did), and came out on top!
    He deserved this more than any of the other contestants, and I think America did a perfect job!

    Does it matter who won? I think that both Davids will make a cd and have great success after Idol. Congrats to both! I do however feel what really matters is ones health and Luke, one of the top 24 has cancer. I bet both Davids now have their priorities in order after hearing that. A contest seems trite to news like that. Poor Luke is fighting his own battle a bigger one to boot.     The wrong person won. It is horrible that David Archuleta didn't win. He was a trillion times better than the other David and was good since the beginning. David C didn't stand out until the middle of the top 12. There were other favorites at the time besides David C. David A was the favorite to win the whole thing. David C won only because of the sympathy vote, not because of talent.

    OK, I am 46 (and look about 32) and LOVE David Cook and my husband tolerates my out of control crush. But we must have this Kimberly Caldwell person out of his life! Who is she? For the love of god, do all cougars a favor and shoot for the moon, man! Date Jennifer Aniston or someone of your caliber. Onward. I have purchased beautiful tix for the AI concert and can't believe it, because you're more likely to see me at a Led Zeppelin reunion show. Since they're not touring, it's AI with the other cougars.
