Yet ANOTHER sign that our economy is in the crapper!
American Airlines announced on Wednesday that they'll start charging $15 for the first checked bag, cut domestic flights and lay off workers as it grapples with record-high fuel prices.
SUCKS that more people are going to lose work!
And, it SUCKS that we have to pay to check baggage in. Just gives us that much more incentive to only take carry-on, but now everyone's gonna start doing that too!
The passenger cabin will be even more sucky on American than it already is.
EVERYONE will probably max out the 2 carry-on policy. Oh, and bet u can't wait to deal with overworked, under-resourced airline staff.

They are more concerned with drilling and producing's affect on the environment than on gas prices. And they just love for you to think that it is all Bush's fault. Get your story straight Perez! Other airlines have been doing this for some time in Europe. Gas prices are up and everyone is taking a hit for it. I deeply despise Mr. Bush, but don't for one second blame all of this on him. We have been gluttons for some time and need to refocus priorities. Would you rather the airlines shut down completely? Then we are all screwed.
