How Do We Say This Delicately???

Filed under: Politik > Barack Obama > Hillary Clinton

wenn-hill-barack__opt.jpg

We think it's time for Hillary to drop out of the race.

Yeah, we said it.

The Democratic party has to rally around the candidate the people have chose, and, by now, it's pretty clear who that candidate is.

    15

Obama should offer her VP, they avoid the Michigan/Florida debacle, and she can help get him support from her people and TOGETHER they can take on McCain.

  16. C-train says – reply to this

    16

I would have to disagree. Just because she is unlikely to win doesn't mean that the voters in the last 3 states shouldn't have a choice in their vote. Mobilizing people to vote is still important. Another 2 weeks isn't going to kill the Democratic Party. They'll do that on their own anyways.

  17. melinda says – reply to this

  21. Tom says – reply to this

    21

Thank you Perez!!! I was waiting for you to bring this up….we need to rally the democratic party NOW b4 McCain slides right into the white house!

I agree that it's time for a nominee….and that looks to be Barack. But I will always stick by my assumption that she would have been the better president. I don't give a rat's ass about personality. And stupid douchebag kids seem to.

Wow Perez, I'm suprised by you! Sticking behind your candidate is sticking with them until they say they're ready to throw in the towel! Uncool! Hope you can live with Obama's stance on gays because I'm not even gay and it doesn't sit well with me! I say BOOOOO to you for the 1st time today, Perez! :(

  33. Flip says – reply to this

    33

I'm a Barack kinda guy, but I'm also a political junkie, so the longer Hillary stays in there, the greater the chance of an exciting Denver convention and the more likely I am to be intellectually satisfied through the summer. Don't quit, Hil!

    yaaaaa waaay
    ;)

  37. danilani says – reply to this

    37

is it hillary's fault that the legal voting system makes it impossible for either candidate to legally win the nomination??

let it run all the way to the convention, with split and lopsided victories like this so that we, the people, can expose our ineptitude, and together, form a more perfect union…

if hillary were a man, and were even more behind, not a single pundit would urge her to leave the race. it would be like chopping the guy's balls off. come on perez!!!

  38. stevie b says – reply to this

    38

stick to what you know, talking shit on celeberities, and stay the fuck out of politics, Perez. NOBODY GIVES A SHIT WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT THE FUCKING ELECTIONS. You are the last person to help someone decide who they should vote for!

  48. Wilbur says – reply to this

    48

    NO SIR!

  49. Danz says – reply to this

    49

omg ..thank you Perez but even thought i agree with you who the democratic nominee will be i do believe every state should vote and Michigan and Florida should re vote(i don't know how that would be done) or seated equally.the last thing that should be done is for anybody to be disenfranchised. Cause we need everybody to be on our side come November.

  50. Lindsay says – reply to this

    50

    Go Barack!!!! :)

  51. to perez says – reply to this

    51

He has not accomplished anything, stole all her ideas, and has a bad record of judgement and NO real experience.
    .
    Go Hillary!
Perez, think about what's best for the country.

  52. Brian says – reply to this

    52

Hillary has more of the popular vote that Obama!! The people's vote is what counts, superdelegates are just policitians who are bought and sold. Let the people decide!! Hillary can beat McCain, but Obama can't. Let's get the right Democratic candidate who can win against McCain. That's Hillary. The white working class will abandon Obama and vote for McCain, and that's how McCain will win. We need Hillary, she is our only Democratic hope for beating McCain. Sorry but it's true. Obama is virtually a Marxist, and America is not quite ready for that yet. Like Clint Eastwood said yesterday, why should Hillary just quit, when she has the majority of the people's vote! Florida and Michigan SHOULD count! You should support Florida's vote being counted, Perez!

  53. Linda says – reply to this

    53

she should just run with him

  54. creativegirl says – reply to this

    54

perez - kudos to you. Unfortunately, Hillary will never do what is good for the party as a whole. All she has ever cared about is her own interests. If she truly cared about this country and its people the way she claims she does, then she would bow out now and put her efforts into making sure a strong, clear candidate goes into the primary.

However, I think that her greed will cost the Democrats in the fall because there will be protests and resentment all the way up to election time while she plays bitter betty all summer long.

I think its sad that Hillary is just hanging on by tooth and nail, when she should just conceed for the betterment of her party. She is one stuck up, pompus person who thinks she is entitled, but I think the country - ready for true change just does not want a Clinton back in the White House. We've been there, done that - everyone is ready for change.

  55. Tom says – reply to this

    55

    She's not going anywhere! She's a fighter!!

  56. Jessa says – reply to this

    56

Give up? Are you kidding? When they aren't even counting FL or MI's votes. This is far from over. Plus, 70% of Hillarys voters have already said that if she drops out they are either going to vote for McCain (heaven forbid) or not vote at all. Don't believe the news media hype. Hillary is STILL in this race.

  57. mel says – reply to this

    57

    john mccain?

  58. w says – reply to this

    58

well DUH, thanks for that captain obvious. They've been saying that on CNN for weeks now…

  59. KF says – reply to this

    59

Thanks! As one of the many people who have given you a hard time about this, I have to say thank you. I've been through this with other candidates, and it can be tough going, but we really do need to rally together, work toward a unified campaign platform that represents both "teams" and get the vote out in November!

  60. Jeremy says – reply to this

    60

No candidate as ever dropped out until the other candidate has gotten the specified number of delegates. Why should Hillary do it different? She just won Kentucky by 35 points. Obviously people still want her in the race and if you are truly a democrat then you would never vote for McCain. That being sad I do not think Obama has a chance in November. Hillary 2012!!

  61. jennifer says – reply to this

    61

I am no civics genious, but is it still possible for her to run without the democratic nomination. I have had my experience with crack heads and I am sorry that is something that only takes a trigger to bring you down and if you all did not know it Obama was a crack head, and a druggie look it up he even wrote a book about it. That being one of the reasons I will not vote for him, also I dont like what his policys are.

  62. Another Floozy says – reply to this

    62

FUCK Osama! That 'man' will NEVER get my vote. Hillary OR McCain, period!

Go Hillary! Have McCain pick YOU as the VP, and that will become the dream ticket. Fuck Obama! He's not EVER going to be in the white house, EVER!

  65. Disturbed says – reply to this

    65

You are such a douche - what difference does it make if she drops out now or a month from now? "The Democratic party has to rally around the candidate the people have chose, and, by now, it's pretty clear who that candidate is." Is the dumbest statement ever.
So there needs to be a mad rush to gather around Obama and chant his name? This accomplishes what exactly?

    God you suck Perez.

  66. alisha says – reply to this

    66

wow perez! Smartest thing I have even heard you say! Or I guess seen you type! LOL!

  67. Robbie says – reply to this

    67

Listen… this is not over!!! we are going to the convention and we are going to get florida and michigans votes counted!!! Obama can shove this election up his ass because if he wins the nom. i am def. either not voting or voting for mccain. Obama is the satan man… he has put a spell over all these people and made them believe that he is the president that is going to make a change…but if he is elected president 10 to 1 says that a load of bullshit and there wont be a change!!!

  68. Latinos for Obama says – reply to this

  73. OMG!!!!!! says – reply to this

    73

Perez you have been hanging from Hill's balls since day one. Are you ok. About f*in time. Go Obama!

  74. Erin says – reply to this

    74

Oh Perez no!!! I think she needs to stay in the race because the longer she's in, the more time we have to talk about how messed up the primary season is. What if California had been the first state to go? She won that state and would have had all the momentum. What about Florida and Michigan?? I agree, she probably won't win the nomination, but her presence forces us to talk about the absurdity of the primary season.

  75. alicia la cubana says – reply to this

    75

    omfg!!!!! fuckkkkk!!!!!

  76. Mike says – reply to this

    76

Hillary can beat McCain. Obama can't. Everyone I know who supports Hillary WILL NOT vote for Obama and will switch to McCain if Hillary is not the nominee. That's just how it is, Obama is way to far to the left. That's why is main support is young idealists liberal college kids and welfare recipients who want more of a free ride at the expense of the working class.

  77. longjewishlegs says – reply to this

    77

Perez, i love the fact that you are a straight shooter (no, this is NOT a sexual comment!!) You supported Hillary but you know when the jig is up. I appreciate that about you……..

  78. TA says – reply to this

    78

You people are insane if you vote for Barack. He has minimal experience (I mean, the guy thinks he can talk with terrorists!) and he is a bigot and racist. He does not have the best interests of the country at heart and his wife is a witch with a chip on her shoulder. If anyone thinks she doesn't matter, then you are mistaken. Women can have a great influence on their husbands their husbands' decisions. Who knows what havoc she could cause.
Also, Barack is sorely underestimating the might of armies from countries smaller than ours. They may not be as, seemingly, well equipped as our army but they have the passion and the drive to hurt us. Not only that, but they may have weapons and resources hidden. Who knows? The point is is that a truly great leader will not underestimate his opponent. That is what leads to downfalls.

I may not be a fan of Hillary but she atleast has experience and she was a first-lady. Truthfully, she would be the better Democratic Candidate but McCain would be the better president.

    VOTE McCAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU!!!! Finally someone sees the light!

  83. chaunce says – reply to this

    83

You should be ashamed of yourself. Of course she knows she won't get the nomination, but she's staying in the race for all the right reasons. what if you were the first gay latin candidate with a solid body of national support and within a couple hundred delegates to win the democratic nomination? would you drop out?

  84. lala says – reply to this

    84

how can you say that? no matter what, obama does not have enough delegates to clinch the nomination! more so, the party is such a vague term. the democratic party has had a groundbreaking election and we have come out in massive numbers to vote, do not insult them by assuming that they all have the same opinion. we all have our own thoughts about who would be the best candidate, and some people, who still have to vote, in florida and michigan, still think that hillary is that person. you have a lot of influence and i hope you support people voting for the candidate the believe will beat mccain and make the best president, not the one that "will unite the party" as you say.

  85. lisa says – reply to this

    85

She just won an overwhelming victory in Kentucky last night retard……why the certainty she's over….You're right…….she should be a good little girl and step aside so that the men can get on to the business of seeming important!!

  86. honesty says – reply to this

    86

sad. poor hilary. I rather her be president than obama. Shoot I rather anyone be president than obama, even you perez. Even if obama make it to the white house I give it 6 months before he's assassinated.
    Obama= bad
    McCain= good

    Republican all the way!!!!

  87. MIMI says – reply to this

    87

BARACK 4EVER, I HOPE McCain dies before its time to vote…

  88. lala says – reply to this

    88

Please encourage your readers to vote, no matter what. and as a hillary supporter, you should know that having carried all major states needed to win the presidency, such as texas, florida, cali, ny, and penn, she is most likely to bring the dems back into the exec office. She can still take this, and she will have earned it. Do not let what happened with Gore happen again, we were robbed of a president that truly deserved to be there because more people voted for him, but social pressure made him give up the fight to save his image. I am proud of hillary for not caring about what the media is pushing her to do, and continuing the fight, because she knows, as I do, that she would be the best for the job. I think you should continue to support her, and then, when the time comes, support the candidate that you think should win.

  89. Grow Up, Perez says – reply to this

    89

If Hillary is not the one, I am going for McCain!
    .
I don't trust him. He is an extremist and all talk.
    .
She would have gotten things done and we need someone with EXPERIENCE.
    .
We are talking about the PRESIDENT, not "who is the coolest kid in high school"
    Grow up, Perez.

  90. carla says – reply to this

    90

    Re: Disturbed

The longer she stays in the more split the party will be. She is making her supporters hold a grudge against obama just because she didn't win the nomination and therefore will vote for McCain. At least the Republicans were smart in that respect and all knew when to quit.

  91. worly says – reply to this

    91

Hilary's only been in office since 2001 not really that much experience (sorry but sleeping with the president does not equal "experience")

Give it up Hil nobody wants you in there but yourself!

  92. sara says – reply to this

    92

But the popular vote has gone to hillary…more voters have chosen her….

  93. els says – reply to this

    93

it makes me sad that people will back a candidate almost solely for celebrity endorsements.

how much of his success has to do with Middle America's allegiance to Oprah?

grow a fucking mind of your own; let's get a woman in office!

  94. Bean says – reply to this

    94

Hillary is WAY more qualified than Obama!

  95. Josh says – reply to this

    95

Hillary should run as an independent if she can't get the Democratic nomination. SHE WILL WIN! Or at the minimun, she'll stop Barrack Obama from winning. Barrack is a former crackhead who hates his white mother and white grandparents who raised him with great love and affection in the face of society's prejudice. If that's not an ungrateful mofo I don't know what is.

  96. Obama O8 says – reply to this

    96

Why does it matter if ALL the states vote this year when every other year there is a clear nominee they don't all need to vote. Just like this year there is now a clear nominee plus why should puerto rico matter when they can't even vote in the general election???? Sounds pretty dumb to have their vote count in the primary. But then again let's let Hillary keep spending money that she doesn't have to bloody up our nominee. It isn't only counter productive but kind of foreshadows what her presidency would be like. SPEND SPEND SPEND. Obama has the money to do it. What, is Hillary going to loan the USA $20 million when she needs to find funding for some program. Come on, that isn't expereince

  97. mcefloi says – reply to this

    97

congratulations for finally realising that fact perez!

  98. Aisling says – reply to this

    98

    Hell no !!

Hillary needs to stick it out - Obama will not win againist McCain. At least Hillary would give him a good run for his money !

Change is all well and good ! But actions speak louder than words ! Obama definately in about 5 -10 yrs time is a perfect candidate and I respect him for standing for the presidency. But come on America - get it together !!!

  99. christine says – reply to this

    99

Just because the DNC has not nominated her. Doesn't mean that the people haven"t .
Whats clear IS she is the best person for the job.
Whats NOT clear is…Are these delegates so stupid they can't see this?
What is going on behind the scenes is what I'd like to know.
If Hillary was going into this with his qualifications she would have been done a long time ago.

  100. jen says – reply to this

    100

i think so, too. if all that energy gets channeled into one representative it could actually go someplace or do something.
