According to friends, Nick Hogan is having a hard time in the slammer. It's apparently so bad that he's having troubling forming sentences to convey how he's feeling. The young Hogan didn't realize, til now, how horrible prison life can be.

well i think what ppl forget is that it isnt totally nicks fault.. it takes 2 ppl in this situation.. yes Nick was speeding and it was his car that crashed BUT as a child u learn seat belts save lives and john was 22 and an adult he knew the difference john choose not to wear a seatbelt and nick did. It was horrible what happend but u cant place all the blame on nick.. We aren't talking about the average 17 year old who got the idea to drive fast one night. This is a kid who was given 3 tickets the same year, prior to the accident, for driving at high speeds on public roads.
AND, we are talking about someone who had previously BRAGGED about getting pulled over 3 times (being let go by the first 2 troopers because they knew he was Hulk's son). BRAGGED ABOUT IT.
To be 17, for anyone, means a sense of infinity and invulnerability. And to be human, at any age, means to make a split second bad decision. If that were the case here, we'd all be feeling sorry for a dumb kid who made a bad choice. But that's NOT the situation.

We lost our 19 yr. old nephew last wed. in a motorcycle accident, we really now know the meaning of loss, and I am sure I can tell you for a fact that Nick Does NOT know what John is growing thru, because John is basically dead, the only difference between us and John's family is we have a grave to visit now, but they have nothing but a shell of their son to visit, there's nothing there just a body. Nick will be out in 8 months and will go on to living, John won't. Ok that was my heart speaking. Now my head, my nephew had just bought his cycle on the day he died, although he was wearing a helmut, he was goofing off and showing off for a girl and was trying to pop wheelies going very fast. He popped one and lost control, and well that's that, but we his know that although he did have the helmut on his own actions predicted the outcome. And yes Nick was driving and speeding, we can't forget that John did NOT put his seatbelt on. his actions with the help of Nick predicted his outcome. Sorry to ramble on……….don't even know if it makes sense, but here it is.

I feel very badly for all concerned. Seems to me that maybe the Hogans' lifestyle and indulgences from the parents contributed to this tragedy as well. As for the victim, all I can say is that he should have been wearing his seatbelt, as he must have known that Nick Hogan had a propensity for speed that his parents fueled by footing the bill for his hot wheels. I hope he rides out his prison term with grace and returns to his life a little wiser.

i gotta say i've been to county jails (in different counties) on 4 occasions and it SUCKS. i can't even imagine prison. solitary confinement is worse. this 8 month will go by VERY slow for him. time goes by sooooooooo slowly. you rarely see the outdoors, you eat sh*t food, you have noone to talk to, and the decor is vomit colored. it's AWFUL. for someone who grew up in luxury, this will be very hard for him.
I feel like I say this EVERY TIME you post something about this situation but here goes I'll say it AGAIN! This whole thing is tragic BUT John knew Nick was drinking & CHOSE to get in the car with Nick. He wasn't forced at gun/knife point! He wasn't just some other person in some other car. I think people (YOU PEREZ!) need to be reminded of that! Nick SHOULD be punished for breaking the law but I don't think John's condition should be factored into that!

I wonder how many times his friend John G drove erratically and the shoe was on the other foot.
This was an accident. I don't believe that the punishment fits the crime in this case. He lost his best friend. He will have to live with this the rest of his life and that is sentence in itself. I hope his prison experience will be of some value in that it will send a message to young offenders everywhere with regards to the consequences of drinking and driving.
Nick Hogan seemed like a nice person on The Hogans and it does seem unfortunate that he is being punished in this manner.
I am sure his family is sick with worry and nothing will bring back his friend or heal the misery that the victims family is experiencing.

That was an ignorant statement. How can someone compare being in a semi-vegitated state probably for his whole life to serving 8 months in prison? No comparison at all. Nick will be back to his old life in one year. John probably and unfortunately never will.
Personally, I don't think John's condition is entirely Nick's fault. People are quick to blame him solely for the outcome because he is the one who came out of it ok. John made his own mistake as well. They are both at fault. While I agree that Nick should do crime for his reckless driving, I think part of the blame should also be placed on the victim. Not all victims are free from blame. I'm sorry to say. He was a few years older than Nick, and from what I understand….they BOTH had reputations for reckless driving. It's not just Nicks fault. It's sad that it had to end that way.

I love Perez, but this makes me sad. If you saw me, I am probably the last person you could imagine in jail…basically, a soccer mom. And I spent 35 days due to a charge that has since been dropped…BUT, noone would bail me out because they believed my husband at the time. ANYWAY, jail changes you. I wasn't even in prison, but jail just about killed me…35 days of almost complete isolation (I got threats too)…I ate, slept, everything in a tiny cell 24 hours a day. I do think he deserved to be punished, but I personally think this is too extreme for a young teenage boy. He will never be the same (and not necessarily in a good way) when he is released.
