my dads been a cook all his life, his arms from the elbow down are completly scarred from oil burns and cuts. I had to drive him to the hosp. when he did the same thing as the guy from hell's kitchen, cuz his boss passed out from all the blood.

Did anybody else notice that they didn't find the tip, either?!? Maybe I missed that part, but I was looking pretty closely, and I didn't see them recover it. I know they weren't actually serving guests with the food that was made, but I'm thinking Chef Ramsay had a little taste of it in one of those dishes he tried. Ewwww!

Same thing happens with construction workers. My husband almost took the whole tip off from a finger, all from a ladder dropped on his fingers!
      Construction and food…….many accidents happen.

      31

He wasn't chopping anything… he was SLICING panchetta - you moron. Chopping is for vegetables. It was clearly the panchetta that was being prepared by this butter-faced idiot. And furthermore, why don't you address the REAL problem - the producers didn't stop the participants from cooking the chopping board full of bloody panchetta! So when it came time to find the poor sod's fingertip, it was frying on the stovetop! Ramsay should have instantaneously pulled that team's plug for such a blatant health code violation! I mean, how could they consider using that same cutting board of panchetta???! Ramsay should have made an example of them right then and there. It made Ramsay's kitchen protocols look weak and dangerous to the eating public.

      34

I watched that last night, it was funny as hell. What I loved about it was that they didn't throw away the meat he was cutting, they cooked the tip of his finger. Can you say "Health Code Violation"!! Freakin nasty as hell. I am glad that dumbass Rosanne left, she was fucking retarded.

It's sad that producers and television stations allow shows like this to air on TV where HUMANS can die or kill themselves, because they feel pressured to do it fast! It's fucked up. The producers and hosts of these shows are all just fucking with your heads, witches & warlocks, mind control's a bitch.

Ugh……. This is why I don't care if my food takes time… So gross…

That happened to my friend when he worked for a deli… Ugh… Except it was the slicer…

      ugh.. nasty flashbacks… So gross

    43. dismaldee says – reply to this

      43

You know what, people who complain that it's sick that the producer's put this on the air or allowed this situation to happen are idiots.. What is TRULY sad about this situation is that stuff like this DOES happen everyday to people in the service industry, and customers honestly DO NOT CARE. This happened to my friend in the deli he worked at in high school while slicing up meat for the customer, and you know what, she didn't give a crap. She was pissed that he ruined the meat and it wasn't ready. Most pharmacists have to work an 8-12 hour shift non-stop no break, but the minute they have to go the bathroom or start feeling sick, customers start bitching and whining why their medication is taking more than 10 minutes. A manager at a shoe store gets attacked by the customer, while being interviewed by the police officer to file a report, a customer wants to make a returned and is PISSED OFF why she can't just do it now. That is the TRUE sad part of situations like this. Most people who are consumers in the service industry expect fast service and as a result this stuff happens A LOT. You just don't want to see it. ((I should talk though.. I like fast service too… 1 hour photo.. fuck that.. I don't care that the printer is broken, give me my picture now))

      Re: dismaldee
You are a Fucktard. Preparation of food always has time contraints. It is a valid and obvious "complaint" people are making about the lack of health code concern anyone - and I do mean ANYONE (especially Ramsay) - on the show failed to voice or act upon. I worked in the food industry for 10 years at every station in a kitchen, plus front of the house. I've seen it all - glass in food, cut fingers, hair - rodents - it's all out there. But this show is supposed to be about how professionals make the call in their own kitchens. THAT'S THE POINT.

I got to give him credit. If I did that I wouldn't have reacted the way he did, that's for sure. He took it like a man! I'd be hysterically crying and panicking.

Did the same thing cutting potatoes at the grade school Thanksgiving feast. It looks really bad, it felt really bad afterwards. Thank god I had good friends their like a nurse to help me and now it is the butt of jokes when I am around potatoes now. He will be fine and all healed up in month I bet he will have to leave the show tho. He may even loss feeling at the tip like I did. I hope the best for him take care….

After seeing this clip it reminded me of something gross that happened to my late Aunt. My Aunt and Uncle were about to cook some italian sausage they bought from a butcher. Luckily before they ate any, they found a BAND-AID in it! Slicing injuries like these, with people that prepare our food probably happen alot more often than we would all like to think they do!
