According to Charlie Sheen's friends, Denise Richards is a big fat liar.

The fame-seeking, money-hungry, desperate attention whore is making it seem like she's hard up for cash, when she's really been making millions by not even lifting a finger.
After her split from Sheen, she received $60,000 a month, tax free, for two years in alimony.
Almost $1.5 million in two years!!! For doing nothing!
Oh, and she ALSO receives $52,000 a month, also tax-free, in child-support for her two kids with Sheen, Lola and Sam.
Damn, if we were Sheens' attorneys, we'd want to see monthly receipts for the kids that add up to $52k a month.

Oh, and it's reported that she also gets a piece of Sheen's show, Two and a Half Men, which eventually will give her up to $25 million!

While I am in NO way defending Denise Richards (I dislike BOTH her and Charlie Sheen) a lot, child support provides money for the children to live AND also creates equity between both parents. It is unfair for one parent to be extremely wealthy and the other not to have anything. Child support tries to equal the playing field between parents so the child does not prefer the parent who is wealthy…or favoritism based on finances. So this is why courts have the wealthier parent pay a large amount of child support in Hollywood OR anywhere else in the United States. (Anne Heche is another example)

a lot of people are complaining about her reality show and why she's doing it. I'm not really any fan of her and who knows her real motives but I haven't seen her in anything lately. A lot of actors who can't get parts in anything are resorting to "reality" TV just be keep being seen ON tv in hopes of that leading to other roles or better projects. I can only guess that is the only type pf work she can get in the business lately. However, those type of shows do nothing good to a person's reputation. Anyone on a show like that just comes off as conceited to be showing their private life on TV and of course if they makes up scenarios for "drama" on the show then people just think you're an asshole since they're thinking the show portrays who you really are. UMM PEREZ - If it is true alimony, it is taxable to Denise as ordinary income and a deduction from ordinary income for Charlie. His lawyers probably wanted it to be alimony and not child supprort because it would be to his advantage. She will have to pay tax on that. Probably 30%

Don't be so excited about the tax-free part. All alimony paid to an ex-spouse is tax free as is child support. The sketchy part is the fact that the amount in the first two years is so high. Tax law has a formula to prevent loading all of the alimony into the first three years and then tapering off, you have to add back some recapture amount to your adjusted gross income if you pay a lump sum in the first three years and then nada after that. So they're either dodging the recapture tax or she'll be getting A LOT more in the coming years.
