the Blue Album and Pinkerton are both great, then the Green Album was so-so, then Maladroit sucked and everything has been getting worse exponentially. I don't get it, they already had their niche in music and were already rich and yet Rivers Cuomo had to just keep releasing albums to prove that they're not just "that band that sings Buddy Holly, Sweater Song, etc." and that they could "evolve musically". THE WHOLE POINT OF WEEZER IN THE BEGINNING WAS TO WRITE SIMPLE SONGS WITH THAT TRADEMARK GUITAR SOUND AND PRODUCTION. "Beverly Hills" was foreshadowing where they are now… they are not a power/pop/indie rock band anymore, in fact, the last 3 albums sound like someone trying to write a Weezer-ish sounding song.

I might add, WHO CARES THAT RIVERS WENT TO HARVARD. There are plenty of dumb people in ivy-league colleges and in the rock business, having your lead singer be from Harvard is only useful for a publicity stunt, it doesn't mean he's smarter and EVEN IF IT DID, it's not the same part of the brain to be musical as to be book-smart … everyone knows that.

Re: ed – I agree with everything you say about Weezer and I even agree that Foo Fighters suck (especially the last 3 albums) but Dave Grohl is prolific and always has other side-projects and is a true musician, which distinguishes him from Rivers Cuomo who is just a guy that knows enough chords to write simple songs. You can even think Dave Grohl is a douche, but he has been around longer than Weezer… was in a great 80's punk band called Scream, then switched to Nirvana, then recorded the first Foo Fighters cd all by himself (he did vocals guitar bass and drums on every track) and I might add, that's the best Foo Fighters album. Anyways, hate Dave Grohl cause you think he's a douche, but no matter how much you hate the guy, he is definitely too good of a musician to be pigeonholed in the same crowd as Weezer.

Criss Angel Responds To Recording Of Altercation! Says Producer Provoked Him!

There are two sides to every story! Here's his!

In light of the audio recording released yesterday that featured Criss Angel threatening to knock out one of his producers, the illusionist's attorney, Ken Woloson, has released the following statement:

"Criss Angel was in the process of firing Joe Safuto on Wednesday when Safuto became abusive and Criss asked him to leave. Criss decided to fire Safuto in response to repeated complaints from co-workers and other magicians about Safuto's abusive and violent behavior and general ineptitude. Witnesses have attested that there was no physical contact and that Safuto very clearly was the antagonist. The audio released to the media is a snippet of a much longer conversation. We are exploring legal action against Mr. Safuto, including for his defamatory and illegal conduct."

Ouch! Sounds like he means business!
