Jasmin, Western Europe cries because they arent good enough to make the top 10. England gets in the finals automatically because they are the Top 4 that pay for it.

@bauhaus: there´s a lot of great european music - unfortunatly they don´t take part on esc! if you wanna names- ask- or get yourself informed. guess you got a lot of european productions on your ipod without knowing.
nevertheless- esc was funny, e.g. spain! and great, like turkey or armenia.
The only thing that makes watching Eurovison worth while is Terry Wogan. The entire thing is a political joke. The eastern countries all vote for each other, and then blow each other up the next day.

I am livin' in Germany currently and I saw the EuroVision contest. Yeah, ALOT of the songs were really cheesy. and the lyrics UGG, gag me with a spoon. I have to say, the Spanish song Chickichicki had stupid LYRICS, but the reggaeton BEAT was awsome.

This contest is a joke. It's all about politics these days and has nothing to do with music. Countries like the UK or Germany don't even have the slightest chance anymore. It's all so predictable. The baltic countries support each other and then give their 12 points to Russia, the scandinavian countries vote for each other etc. Definitely the last time I watched this crap. Terry Wogan was right. Western countries should seriously pull their money from it and not participate in it anymore as this clearly could be called Eastern Eurovision.

The funny part is that immigrants pay the biggest role in this contest,
since no one can vote for their own participation but only other countries.

This song sucked, I was very surprised it won. My country, Iceland, didn't give Russia a single point. I was also very surprised when he reached 2nd place 2 years ago, his song was just as boring then. And both times had very random visual things. He's not that great of a singer, either. Should have sung in Russian, too. This contest is too stuffed with bad accent ridden english.
