Asslee Comes Cheap

As we had mentioned in March, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz was set to premiere a new collection of tops 'designed' by her to be sold exclusively at Wet Seal.
The launch date was April 22nd, and now just a bit over a month later, the collection is already doing poorly.
So bad that they're practically giving it away for free!!!
The line started out with about a dozen different shirts. They were originally marked at $19.50.
Now, they are being sold on West Seal's website for just $4.99.
Cheaper than buying a latte!
Poor Asslee.
Even though her clothing line didn't go well, at least she has her new husband and baby on the way.
Let's hope she doesn't start to make baby clothes now!

I work at Wet Seal. We got a whole shitload of transfers of her shirts from another store because they weren't selling. And you know what the messed up part was? WE WEREN'T ALLOWED OUR DISCOUNT ON THE CLOTHES THE FIRST WEEK THEY WERE AVAILABLE. we get 40% off and were were not allowed ANY discount whatsoever until the following week. In our "wrap-in" they were trying to have us push her clothes collection b/c it wasn't selling like they had hoped. Most people who were purchasing them didn't even know that it was ashlee simpson on the shirts or that they were from her "collection". It was pathetic and instead of paying all this money to have ashlee be our "spokesperson" they should've given all of us a freaking raise

I am the store manager of a Wet Seal, and we did not sell ONE SINGLE shirt with her face on it. She had some just leopard print shirts that sold, but no bought the ones with her on it. Most people didnt even recognize her since she changed her hair RIGHT before the shirts came out and all our marketing had red head Ashlee, yet the cd had her with blonde hair. I know for a fact she didnt design any of them. She just licensed with Wet Seal to use her pictures and graphics for them. It was a huge mistake the company made. Though, the cd isnt half bad, we've been playing every track over and over again.

i love Wet Seal, i bought 2 of the shirts from her "line" and they didn'nt have her face on them or writing on them just animal prints. they were so cute and most of her shirts sold out within a week or 2, including the ones i bought! it's only the stupid ones that have her face on them that are left and now they're really cheap..

I'm not surprised her face is on the shirts. Has anyone ever seen Jessica Simpson's clothing? Big JESSICA SIMPSON in white written on the waitband. One pair of the track pants were ok until I saw her name on the back. They're just trying to promote themselves with uber ugly shit.
I happen to walk into a Wet Seal one day and see these ridiculous shirts. Not only is the quality poor (looks like they were made in a freakin sweatshop!) but they were pretty damn ugly. I thought the most ridiculous ones were the ones with her image on them…pretty hilarious.
