I listened to JS's song, and it wasn't bad ~ it's like pop country or something. Jewel is great, too, but different. I know alot of people that can not stand her voice.

PEREFECTLY CLEAR by Jewel will be the FIRST country album I will have ever bought. she sounds amazing and yes her lyrics, voice & melodies are LIGHT YEARS beyond Jessica Simpson who tries to sound sexy but just sounds like a friggin idiot with a pout care of silicone or whatever she pumped into her lips.

It's only natural for Jewel to "go country" musically …. she's daughter to an Alaskan cowboy singer-songwriter… she's dating rodeo-star Ty Murray… living on a ranch in Texas. She's a pro at Yodeling for god's sakes! I don't think she's trying to be compared to Jessica Simpson or any other singers in the country genre. Her music is just reflecting where she's been and where she currently is in life right now. It just happens to sound much better than Jessica Simpson.

ummm. no. jewel does not represent good country. i loved her stuff when she was doing the folk-alt thing, but i'm sorry…but her doing country just because its one of the more successful genres right now? please. her lyrics are contrite and she is making music that i'm sure her producers and "people" think is what people who listen to country will respond to. Trust me, its not.

Jewel is an amazing singer/songwriter. Her music has always been a reflection of her, not matter what genre she is writing/playing. She is incredible and the most talented musician out there.
as for her "snaggletooth" why the hell should she have to fix it? It's part of who she is. and I love that she hasn't conformed to Hollywood's idea of beauty. She is perfect in her imperfections. People are just used to plastic. sad.

NOT ONE, must less do an autograph or two for at least the kids!!!@*^#! NOT EVEN A WAVE!!!! NNNOOOTTHHIINNGG!!! WE WERE INVISIBLE:[[[ I could have reached out a touched her…… It broke my heart:((((( THEN…….like fools we waited again after the concert by her bus and never saw her leave……….So sad………and disappointed……

Her dad was my damn music teacher in grade school and this is how much of a bitch she is… There was a huge family reunion/ birthday party in Homer for her dying grandfather and she was 'too good' to show up. What, with her thriving career and all? RRRRRIIIIIIGHT!!!!! I know her brother, he still lives in Homer too and he is awesome. BTW He sings WAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY better than his sis. UM…Jewel's first cd is heavy on the acoustic guitars which makes one believe that it's only a matter of time before she makes a country cd. Also, her third cd has a country-ish rock sound. This is a natural step for her and i'm glad she finally made a country disc, but hopefully her cd sounds less pop-country (I couldn't hear the songs). plus she's been dressing country style since ever! She grew up on a a farm with her cowboy dad, and cowboy brothers. Hell, she freakin helped a cow give birth! She is a CHAMPION bull rider! (kidding!). For those of you who like Jessica more: you must not be that much into country music because her music is too poppy, it's supposed to appeal to the very casual country music listener.
