After a process that has spanned over two years…
A Malawai court on Wednesday finally approved Madonna's adoption of little David.
She's his mommy - for good!
A lawyer for her Madgesty has released a statement, saying, "We are very happy with what the judge has ruled. It is a positive and beautiful judgment that will have an impact on Malawi's adoption laws."
The adoption has been very controversial, with critics accusing the government of skirting laws that ban non-residents from adopting children in Malawi, which has been badly hit by an AIDS epidemic that has left more than 1 million orphans.
Many people and groups opposed the adoption, but in the end, even David's biological father wanted Madonna to be able to legally care for the child.

Congrats to David and his new family but how outrageous to put them through a two year ordeal. These children need homes and the process should be a year, tops. In this country it takes a year and we held our breathe until we were in front of the judge and he said, you are officially a family. And in our case the birth mom severed all ties two days after his birth. Let's put these kids in good safe homes, home studies take a few hours, not a few months or years….

It is this adoption that will put the final nail in the coffin of the Madonna/Guy Richie marriage.
While Guy might have been sympathetic to the needs of the Malawi people, I don't think he was on board with this adoption. Madonna is a self-important bitch. I feel sorry for that child. They must stop all these white people stealing black children from Africa. Saving one child does not solve the problem of 400 years of exploitations and underdevelopment of an entire continent.

Anyone who hates on her for this adoption: My husband and I are adopting and it is one of the hardest things we've ever done. The process is not easy and therefore no one goes into adoption just for funzies or to be selfish.
It is much easier for incompetent people (worldwide…I'm not talking about Malawi specifically) to continuously breed than it is for others to adopt. What's wrong with this picture?!
If people would use protection than we wouldn't have millions of children living in foster care and orphanages, and everyone who needs to be adopted, can be.

All of those people who want to turn a good thing (providing a home for a kid in need) into something negative while using the line: The boy has a father. It is a FACT that the father left this kid in an orphanage and did not visit that kid ONCE since he left him there. The kid was in an orphanage. The offer was made by Madonna to financially aid the fathers family, so he could take care of David, but he declined and appeared in court to testify he wanted the kid to be adopted. So in theory, sure the kid had a dad, but not in a practical sense and that is what should matter.
Oh, and those that keep referring to her having to adopt an American kid. A country that has the money to drop bombs and fight wars costing billions of dollars??? That country should be able to take care of their own, but they choose not to. The money is there and plenty of it, if only the people would stand up and show they do not accept this situation from their government. Greatest country in the world. Who is kidding who? And to compare the need of a kid in Malawi to the need of a kid in the USA is ridiculous in itself. Do not get me wrong, I think it is a big shame that the US chooses not to spend their money wisely. I just don't get that even though you may not like the woman, may not like what she stands for, or has done in the past, you may even despise her, whatever … regardless of all that, that kid is still in a much better place right now. How somebody can not appreciate that is beyond me. I do not agree with how you see Madonna, but that's fine with me, to each their own. And so what if she now seems to look at things differently than she used to? Seems only natural to me that people change, have different opinions and all. Part of growing up, maturing and all that.
