When celebrities do good!
It's nice to see stars using their fame and money for good.
One such artist is Latinolicous Juanes.
Juanes is joining fellow rocker/humanitarian Bono and several other artists in Japan to help take a stand against world poverty.
He is taking part in two concerts while visiting overseas to support the "One For All Demonstration" which is tied to the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD).
He'll be playing concerts in Tokyo and Osaka.
Earlier today, the concert took place under rain and winds while Juanes joined Bono and other musicians on stage.
The goal is to remind the government about keeping its promise to help people living in poverty.
And it looks like the Japanese have become Juanes fans, as his his single Me Enamora is a Top-5 hit on the radio there. He's singing in Spanish!

I don't believe in fund-raisers like this. I've seen the actual amounts that go to the cause and its very little. Bono especially rubs me wrong- a rockstar who's trying to deal with world hunger…I'm all for the cause, I just don't believe he's going to be the one to do it.

Bono has been involved in all these idiotic liberal causes for decades and none of the problems he's tried to fix have improved even slightly. He's raised many millions to fight hunger and it hasn't put even the smallest dent in world hunger. The solution is democracy and teaching countries to be self sufficient not a stupid handout.

Who doesn't good ol Bono put his money where his mouth is and starting donating his millions to charity? And if he has even given any, then chances are, it's not a quarter of what he's got. Celebs make me sick. They whore out themselves for all these worthwhile causes and barely give anything to these charities. If they all got off their high horses and donated half of what they have, then a lot of these poor families would actually be looked after.
So refreshing to see celebrities pre-occupied with the unfortunate plight of others, as opposed to purchasing their next $10,000 handbag or 35 million dollar house. Bono is a wonderful example to others and should be commended, not criticized, EVER!

Recently saw Juanes in concert in Fresno……rocked it…..as he sang a song he had pictures of wounded people in different countries and it made me cry…..i went there to rock out and have fun and i had to grab a tissue! He is the most talented artist/humanitarian I know. He always puts on a great show!

It's really cool that you posted this, since I've always looked up to Juanes and what he's done.
Aside from what you mentioned he's also played a huge part in trying to resolve the problems that Colombia and Venezuela were having a little while back. He organized a concert on the border of both countries (Paz en las fronteras) and sang and invited many other singers. It was a success and it was FULL!
