It's hard to believe, but Miz Kylie Minogue turned 40 on Wednesday!

In true diva style, Kylie had 2 big birthday parties.

Last week, she had a party in Greece and invited everyone working on her current Euro tour – even the catering staff. More than 100 friends and colleagues celebrated in the three-storey hotel Kylie had booked out for the night.

And, last night (her actual bday), close friends and family (including sister Dannii and the parents) flew into Cologne, Germany (Kylie's latest tour stop) to help Kyle ring in this milestone year.

      I'm sad for Kylie actually. I'm from Scotland and watched her for years on neighbours, saw her singing career take off and enjoyed her music. Over the years though, she has become a caricature - a wooden figurine, so involved with herself, her, her, her. Her recent spat of interviews in North America showed off her distinct lack of personality. Always unlucky in love too and no children. What is her life about, money and fame - sad? I wish her a happy birthday but more than that, I hope she takes stock and stops her fame quest to settle down and lead a normal family life. She would probably make a fabulous mum, I'm not saying she is not a nice person - just self absorbed. The End!!!!!!

      i take issue with what aileen says - klylie is a cancer survivor, a mega success, and in the picture just posted she is dressing age appropriate and looks beautiful - note to Janet Jackson - stop trying to look 20, or even 30 for that matter - you are 42 and get some class! You can still look beautiful, sexy and classy at 40 if you act your age and then mayble people will buy your records or care about you.

      Ms Minogue certainly looks better when she chooses the classy route, rather than reverting to the sexualized pop princess image she promoted earlier in her career. Yeah, she looks great for 40. So would we all if we'd undergone the number of cosmetic procedures she has, and the hours of preparation with stylists, make-up artists, etc before an event. Compare how she looks now with earlier photos - she looks like a different person, and it's not to do with getting older. Her whole facial structure seems to have changed. But I guess being in the business she's in and the emphasis that is placed on looks especially for women, it goes with the territory.
