Former sex tape star, Ray J, is finally speaking out about the incident last week when he was kicked out of the Hyatt Regency in Washington D.C. due to an alleged drug find.
Reports were that Ray J was found with "the Boat", also known as PCP.
In response to the media coverage, he has issued the following statement, written completely by his publicists:
"The defamatory statements made by the staff at the Washington D.C. Hyatt accusing me of using the drug 'boat' or PCP are totally false and are an attempt by them to gain publicity for their hotel. These drugs are illegal and since the police were called, I would have been arrested if I had these drugs in my possession. The statements made by the hotel staff are extremely damaging, and I'm contemplating legal action. "

Wonder who to believe, but we doubt the Hyatt wants to be in any way associated with Ray J.

Well his point about being arrested there for the drugs is a good one. I really do think if he had drugs on him he would have at least been there until bail was posted. Maybe he bribed them but who knows, but he doesn't seem like he could afford that.

I do not think he did it…PCP is not normally used by African Americans..Not trying to be racial at all….I am a nurse, and it is always the same type of person to use it, and he is not that type…I am going to get backlash, and that is okay, as I have statistics to back me up.
Okay, I swear. I do PR for a hotel chain. I am responsible for getting them in the press and getting the name "out there." And there is NO WAY that any hotel would promote the story that a rap star was using PCP in one of their rooms as a way to "gain publicity."
If anything, it detracts from the good name of the hotel. In fact, we've had drunk stars at my hotels. And we do everything we can to get them cleaned up and into their rooms so that nobody gets embarrassed. That is called good service. A hotel should be a safe, quiet, elegant place to spend the night. Not the red light district (Elliot Spitzer), South Central (Ray Jay and his "boat") or any other manifestation of shitty, low class, illegal behavior.
Ray Jay may be right that the cops would have arrested him if they found PCP. But he's wrong the the hotel is using this incident as a way to get publicity. I guarantee you - he will never get a room there again.

I dont know what the truth is but I have stayed at the hotel and the staffs were totally rude and ignorant. They made some rude remarks, refused to answer questions and ignored customers. I already forgot that horrible trip but this ray j story reminds me how bad the hotel was.

In my line of work I often use large hotels for my conferences, the Hyatt corporation in recent years has become known for thier poor management style. I do not think the Hyatt wants the press surrounding Ray J, I think this is another example of thier piss poor business acumen which I have experienced first hand.
