Well, we have news that will make your heads spin even more!
Saved By the Bell and Showgirls alum Elizabeth Berkley has been cast to join the flick!
She will play a speed freak-turned-Jesus freak whose sentiments about ridding the world of its exponential sin are rivaled only by her infatuation with her dreamy pastor.
Are the producers purposely turning #2 into a joke?

Haven't you seen Southland Tales??? The director already made his sophomore effort a joke. Check out the cast and you tell me that he didn't try to put together the worst ensamble in history…. Remember that in the first movie Patrick Swayze played a role as a cheesy self-help Tony Robbin's type to perfection and added alot to the narrative. I assume Berkley will be used in the same vein…

#31 said something about Patrick Swayze being cast in the first one. In no way is casting Patrick Sawyze like casting "Jesse", he can actually act! And has had a successful movie career (Ghost, Roadhouse, Dirty Dancing etc.)

The only thing good about a Donnie Darko 2 is that the same girl is playing Samantha Darko. However, it's basically going to be the first movie all over again. The original writer even refuses to have anything to do with this film. It shouldn't be touched, but I might see it out of curiousity, just to see what more could be done with it. Kind of like seeing Saw III, IV, or V…
Donnie Darko was a good film by itself, i hope it dosn't get ruined by the sequel sort of like the Mask or Saw did
